Washington was disappointed after the loss on Thursday. They shot the ball well as a team, they outrebounded their opponent and had 11 turnovers less, but somehow they still lost the game by 15 points. Bradley Beal had 30 on the night and Kyle Kuzma also added 19 of his own. This team is playing a vastly different style compared to last season. Their scoring has gone way down, they were ranked 5th last year and this time around they are only 20th in scoring. However, the defense has picked up and they rank in the Top 10 in almost every meaningful statistical category on that end. As a result they are a solid 6-1 at home this season and nobody has an easy time when they come to Washington.
The Heat have owned the Wizards in head-to-head meetings by winning 8 of the last 10. However, this Washington team is a lot better on the home than they are on the road. I saw some positives from them on Thursday, if they can play a similar style tonight they’ll be in good shape. At home they’ve covered in 7 of their last 8 games and I expect them to do so yet again tonight against a banged up Miami squad. Wizards to cover.
