With just 1 win in 10 games, the Portland Trail Blazers are arguably the worst road team in the NBA this season. Losing to the Warriors at Chase Center is to be expected, but failing to beat the struggling Sacramento Kings is simply unacceptable. The Blazers got only 16 points from both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum in the 15-point loss at Golden State over the weekend, both of them will have to do much better if they want to get anything out of tonight’s game. This team hasn’t had much success playing at Utah recently with just 3 wins in their last 11 games. They also don’t like playing in the underdog role this season, they’ve lost all 5 such games. There’s also bad news on the injury front for them as Norman Powell is most likely to miss tonight’s game with a quad injury.

The Jazz also have injury issues coming into this one, but they are minor as Royce O’Neale is questionable with an ankle injury. Utah is coming off a 2-game home stand against the New Orleans Pelicans in which they went 1-1. In Saturday’s 22-point win they had the game wrapped up pretty much at half-time as they build a 19-point lead, so none of the starters played more than 27 minutes. At 7-4 at home this season you could say they are underachieving a bit as in 41 games total last season they lost only 6 of them. However, facing the Blazers they have enjoyed a lot of success lately by beating them in 2 of the 3 most recent meetings and in 6 of the last 10 head-to-head.
Utah is beating teams at home by a +9.0 point differential this season and they come in this one as 7.5 point favorites. Blazers have covered the spread just once in 10 road games and are everyone’s favorite team coming to visit this season.
