Denver Nuggets vs San Antonio Spurs betting tips and predictions for Thursday’s clash in the NBA. Just a day after their OT win at New Orleans, the Denver Nuggets head to San Antonio to take on the Spurs. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Denver Nuggets

Denver Nuggets39 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists – that was the stat line of one Nikola Jokic last night as he powered his Nuggets to a huge 120-114 overtime win over the Pelicans on the road. Just one more Nugget had 20 points to help Jokic out and that was Will Barton. As a team Denver finished shooting 51% from the field which is solid, however the defense was non-existent and the Pelicans almost punished them. This was Denver’s 3rd win in 5 games and they are slowly recovering from all the injuries early on in the season, right now they are only 8th in the Western Conference standings which would mean they would go into the play-in tournament if the season ended today. I’m liking their chances tonight against the Spurs as they’ve beaten them 8 times in the last 10 meetings.

San Antonio Spurs

San Antonio SpursSan Antonio has been on a solid run lately, but in their last 2 games they’ve ruined it all by losing to the New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns. The game against New York was a big letdown as they lost by 12 points at home, allowing the Knicks to score 121 points on them. Defensively they rank only 20th in the NBA and that has been the major talking point of Gregg Popovich who is trying to max out an otherwise limited roster. One more major weakness of this team is 3-point shooting as they rank only 29th in threes this season making only 10.1 per game on 34% shooting. They could be without a couple of players due to injury here, Kelvin Johnson is doubtful with an ankle injury, while Devin Vassell is questionable with a quad issue.

It’s hard to bet against Nikola Jokic, even if the Nuggets played last night and their game went into overtime. It’s still early in the season so I don’t think conditioning will be a problem for him and his team. Nuggets have beaten the Spurs 6 times in the last 7 meetings, I’m confident they can do so yet again tonight. Denver to cover.

Nuggets -1.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

As we saw last night against the Pelicans, the Nuggets fancy going over the total in their road games this season. In total 7 of their last 8 away from home have gone over the total and for the season they are 8-5 on the O/U in 13 games. San Antonio home games have also produced a ton of overs this season, in 13 games played they’ve gone 8-1-2 so far. Even head-to-head meetings between the two have also gone over the total quite frequently lately. In their last 12 that bet has cashed 8 times, including in 5 straight played at the AT&T Center. An average of 219 points per game have been scored in the last 10 meetings, so every single stat is pointing to a high scoring game here. With Denver playing last night, that could also affect their defensive strategy, they could opt to run with the Spurs so I’m going for the over in this one with confidence.
