Leading scorer Jayson Tatum also struggled with just 15 points on 4-for-16 shooting. The C’s now have an opportunity to bounce back vs a Western Conference team. The wheels have come off completely in San Antonio as the Spurs have now lost 6 games in a row following their 124-105 defeat against the Hawks on Wednesday. With just 2 wins in 8 games at the AT&T Center they are one of the worst home teams in the NBA right now. It’s hard to pinpoint one flaw this team has, but if I had to it would be their defense. On offense they rank 2nd only to the Golden State Warriors when it comes to assists per game, however when you get rid of your two best players during the offseason, your results will suffer. Defensively they’ve allowed 118 points per game in their last 3, at home that number is 116.4 per game for the season. If the Spurs somehow want to finish in the Top 10 in the West, they’ll have to urgently fix that part of their game.
I’m surprised the Celtics are only 3-point favorites coming into tonight’s game. Sure, they are coming off a loss, but they are facing a team on a 6-game losing streak which has lost 13 of it’s last 17 games. The Celtics are only going to get better with a healthy Brown back in the line-up, I can definitely see them winning this one. Give me Boston to cover.
