They’ll be without Richaun Holmes for another game as he is ruled out due to poor conditioning here. Tonight against the Lakers it could be a struggle once again as they’ve not covered in 5 straight when hosting LA. Against Western Conference opponents in their last 5 games they are just 1-4 ATS.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers have also been inconsistent this season, but what separates them from the Kings is the King himself. LeBron James is putting up historic numbers for a player his age, however the Lakers are only 21-20 on the season so far. Anthony Davis remains out as he recovers from a knee injury, but the league should be on notice when he returns. If the Lakers are able to build solid chemistry in the final couple of months of the regular season, they could be a force in the Playoffs. One more thing the Lakers need to work on is the play of Russell Westbrook. The former MVP had only 6 points (yes, six) in the home loss to Memphis on 2-for-12 shooting, the starting unit for the Lakers combined for just 22 points while LeBron himself had 35 in the game. LA enters tonight’s game on a 5-2 ATS run in their last 7, plus against the Kings they are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games.
I’m trying to come up with reasons to back the Kings at home here, but I cannot justify that in any way. LA has more talent on almost every position and even though Westbrook is struggling right now, I still think LeBron has enough to carry them to a win here. Back the road team.
