Sacramento Kings
All the noise around Sacramento ahead of tonight’s game is regarding the health of De’Aaron Fox. It was announced right after Game 4 that Fox has a broken index finger, he was able to finish the game and will play tonight, but you have to feel for him as it will surely cause some discomfort moving forward.
Sacramento had a really good chance of winning Game 4, but Harrison Barnes missed a three pointer as time expired and now we have ourselves a best-of-3 series. Sacramento is still in the driver’s seat though with 2 of those games happening in their own arena. They are 1.5 point underdogs tonight, which is a bit strange since they’re facing a team that had only 11 wins in 30 road games this season.
Golden State Warriors
The defending champions relied once again on Stephen Curry and his shooting to get the victory and it worked. For the first time in this series we had a team shoot 50% from the field as the Warriors came out on top 126-125. Klay Thompson added 26 points of his own while Jordan Poole scored 22.
It would have been really difficult for the Warriors to come back had they lost that game on Sunday, but now it’s a completely different situation. All the pressure is on their opponent to win tonight’s game, nobody expected anything out of you on the road when you have one of the worst records in the NBA. However, let’s not forget that the Warriors are 10-3 SU in their last 13 games vs the Kings.
I still believe it will be a close game, despite the injury to Fox. The biggest strength of this Kings team is just that – their team. It’s not a one man show and we’ve seen other players step up a countless number of times this season. I’ll take the Kings in Game 5.
Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds
Game 4 of this series was probably the most entertaining of the entire NBA postseason so far with 251 points scored. Both teams were pushing the pace and shooting the ball at a high level, I see no reason why they won’t stick to that approach in tonight’s game. Golden State’s biggest problem on the road is they’re incapable of getting stops, hence why they are 29-13-1 on the O/U in road games this season.
Sacramento also has 26 of 43 games at home to go over the total, but they aren’t even trying on defense, they simply try to play fast and outscore their opponents. That’s why they had the best offensive numbers during the regular season and that’s why the over has cashed in 6 of their last 9 games vs Pacific Division opponents. My only concern is the injury to Fox, but players like Huerter are yet to play a big game in this series, that can change at any moment. With Golden State also cashing on the over in 10 of their last 13 Wednesday games, I fancy another over for Game 5.
