Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors betting tips and predictions for Saturday’s NBA Playoffs game on ABC. It’s the first match-up in the Western Conference playoffs as the Kings host the Warriors in Game 1 of their first round series. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Hosting a playoff game for the first time in 16 seasons will be quite the experience for the city of Sacramento. However, playing the defending champions Golden State Warriors might ruin the experience a bit. Quite a few teams in the playoff race targeted the 6th seed to play the Warriors in the first round, mainly due to the lack of experience by the Kings at this stage.
But, they have nothing to fear against the 4-time champions Warriors. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis played the best seasons of their careers so far, both of them will be a handful to deal with for Golden State. The Kings are just 1-point favorites in Game 1, they have just 4 wins in the last 18 home games against the Warriors.
Golden State Warriors
Finishing only 6th in the regular season wasn’t the plan for Golden State, but they’ll be happy with getting into the postseason without having to go through the play-in tournament. Andrew Wiggins just got cleared to play in the series opener after missing the last couple of months of the regular season due to personal reasons.
With just 11 wins in 41 road games this year, the Warriors might no longer be a force they used to be, but they still head into tonight’s game with a 8-1 SU record in the last 9 games vs Sacramento. Andre Iguodala is the only name on the injury report, but his role has diminished significantly this year so it won’t really matter. Golden State closed out the season winning 4 of 5 games vs Western Conference teams.
The emotions will be high within the Kings and that’s to be expected after such a long drought. I’m still going to give them the benefit of the doubt as Golden State has just been terrible on the road this season. Consistency is king and with a 23-18 SU home record I have faith in Sacramento here. Kings to cover.
Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds
This series has the potential to be the highest scoring first round match-up of this year’s playoffs. We have the 1st and 2nd highest scoring teams going at it – the Kings finished the year averaging 120.7 points per game, while the Warriors were at just 118.9 per game. Defensively neither team has shined, they find themselves just 17th and 25th in defensive efficiency at the end of the regular season.
Surprisingly though, the O/U numbers are just 3-6-1 in their last 10 meetings with an average of just 230.3 points per game during that stretch. But still, Sacramento finished the year going over the total in 25 of 41 home games and the Warriors did so in 28 of 41 road games. Every single game of this series should be a high scoring one, so let’s kick things off by backing the over in this one.
