De’Aaron Fox has arrived. In his first ever playoff appearance the point guard delivered a massive performance scoring 38 points, 29 of which came in the 2nd half to lift the Kings to their first postseason victory in 17 years. It wasn’t just all him though, the Kings got a massive boost off the bench with Malik Monk dropping 32 points. Domantas Sabonis didn’t have the best offensive game, but he did contribute with 16 rebounds which was huge. Now the pressure is on the Kings to deliver yet another win before the series moves to the Bay Area. Is that realistic? Saturday’s win was only the 2nd time they beat the Warriors in the last 10 meetings.
Golden State Warriors
Experience will come in play here for the Warriors as they hope to avoid going down 2-0. Winning on the road has been a problem all season long as they finished with a 11-30 SU record. There were some positives to take away despite the loss in Game 1. Andrew Wiggins looked really solid after 2 months of no basketball activity, he scored 17 points but also missed a potential game winning three-pointer down the stretch.
Golden State was in the game until the very end despite going just 16-for-50 from three-point land. Steph Curry delivered his usual 30 points, he will have to up that to at least 35 tonight if Golden State wants to come out of Sacramento with a victory. Winning at the Golden 1 Center hasn’t been an issue over the years, they’ve gone 14-5 SU in their last 19 visits.
Going down 2-0 is not an option for the Warriors as in that case they would have to win 4 of the next 5 to advance. I think Curry pulls off an all-time performance here and we have ourselves a series. Back the Warriors to win their 9th game in 12 outings.
Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds
As expected the two teams delivered an all-time offensive performance in the series opener on Saturday combining for 249 points and going over the total. As a result the projected total has gone up a bit and is now at 240 points for Game 2. At some point the Warriors will have to start playing some defense, this being a road game I don’t think tonight is the night, but the good news is they have enough offensive firepower to match the Kings bucket for bucket here.
These two teams finished the regular season as the 1st and 2nd ranked offenses in terms of points per game, the warriors also led the NBA in pace at 103.5 possessions per game. Game 2 should be just as entertaining as Game 1, so don’t expect to see a lot of defensive plays here. Back the points.
