As a team they knocked down 19 threes and turned the ball over just 6 times, but when you allow an opponent to shoot over 52% from the field it’s hard to win.
Revenge will be on the mind of the Kings who return home after a successful 3-1 road trip. They lost the first meeting of the season back in late November against the Celtics 122-104, but after the All-Star break they are the team to beat in the NBA so it promises to be a intriguing match-up tonight. The Celtics have had the upper hand in head-to-head meetings winning 11 of the last 15, but in Sacramento it’s the Kings who are 7-3 SU in the last 10 meetings.
Boston Celtics
Consistency has been the main issue for the Boston Celtics lately. They got beat by Utah despite opening the game with a 10-point lead after the 1st quarter. Jayson Tatum has been up and down lately, he took just 12 shots in the loss. Boston put up 22 threes on the Jazz, but even that wasn’t enough to beat them.
Despite the loss though they remained in 2nd place in the East, but the 76ers are just half a game back which means they cannot lift their foot off the gas pedal just yet. This team has been winning against Western Conference opponents, they are 9-3 SU in their last 12 such games. Reinforcements are on the way for tonight’s game as Al Horford, Robert Williams and Marcus Smart have all been upgraded to probable.
Boston is one of the best road teams in the NBA, but the same applies to the Kings when playing at the Golden 1 Center. Both teams need the win badly, I just find the 4-point spread a bit too high to bet against a team as consistent as the Kings have been. I’ll gladly take the home team and the extra points here.

The Celtics cannot wait to get this game over with as it’s their final of a 6-game road trip, after which they return back home in 3 days to face Indiana. In situations like this we’ve seen teams let off a bit with their defense and speed things up which more often than not results in high scoring games. The Celtics have been involved in a few of those lately, and with the likes of Horford, Williams and Smart returning they get massive improvements on that end of the court.
Sacramento is the highest efficiency scoring team in the NBA this season averaging 117 points per 100 possessions, plus they’re also a top 10 team in terms of pace. Combine all that with the fact that 14 of their last 20 games have all cashed on the over and they’re 22-12-1 on the O/U at the Golden 1 Center, I think backing the over is a must in this game.
