I have to say the Mavericks surprised me in their last game at Portland scoring 132 points in a 15-point win over the Blazers. Luka Doncic again didn’t play, but Kristaps Porzingis stepped up and had a season-high 34 points and 9 boards to lead the Mavs to their 8th win on the road this season. Four more Mavs scored in double figures and as a team they shot 57% from the floor in one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season. Portland’s defense is so bad that even a mediocre Dallas team will look elite against them. Luckily for Dallas, Sacramento’s defense isn’t much better either so we could expect another solid game on that end for the Mavs here. Despite not having Luka, Dallas is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games and have covered 9 times in their last 12 on the road.
Sacramento Kings
The Kings are also coming off a win vs the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-111 last night. A total of 5 players scored in double figures, led by Tyrese Haliburton who had 24 and 10 assists. Interestingly enough the Kings shot a better percentage from three than from the field, something to keep an eye on ahead of tonight’s game. Unlike the Mavs, they don’t have that many problems with health and safety protocols so they should be at full strength for this one. Even that might not be enough though, they’ve covered just 3 times in their last 10 games and are only 3-7 SU in their last 10 overall.
This being a second night of a back-to-back for the Kings, they could struggle with fatigue here. The Mavs had an extra day of rest and are getting back players from the protocols every single day. Luka won’t play, but the Mavs are 10-7 ATS on the road this season. I’m backing them here as well.
Sacramento Kings vs Dallas Mavericks Predictions & Odds

I was a bit surprised when I saw the last 10 head-to-head meetings produced 7 unders and just 3 overs. In fact the last 5 meetings have all gone under the total. The average amount of points scored in those 10 games has been 225.4 per game, so if the two teams reached that number we would go over tonight. Sacramento’s defense has allowed 115 per game in their last 3, while Dallas is at 113 per game, with both of them struggling that might very well happen. In terms of pace the Kings rank 2nd in the NBA and this being a home game for them I think they’ll control the tempo here. Since hiring Alvin Gentry they’ve completely turned around their philosophy and are trying to score as many points as possible, not caring too much about the other end. Dallas scores more on the road than at home, even though they’ll be without Luka here I don’t see how the Kings handle Porzingis as he is a match-up nightmare for almost any team in the league. Let’s back the over in this one.
