Tonight they face one of the teams that has dominated them over the past several seasons – Portland has just 1 win in their last 5 home games vs LA. Home form has been an issue for a while now, the Blazers have only 4 wins in 14 games at Moda Center. Aside from Lillard, they’ll also be without Gary Payton II, which is a big hit to their defensive ambitions.
Los Angeles Clippers
Ivica Zubac stole the headlines after the latest Clippers win over Indiana this weekend. The Croatian big man went for 31 points and 29 rebounds, becoming the first Clipper player with such a stat line in almost 40 years. He goes up against Jusuf Nurkic tonight, it will be difficult to produce a similar stat line.
The Clippers are optimistic though, despite not having Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Luke Kennard at their disposal. They’ve been beating the Blazers regularly over the past few years, going 9-1 SU in the last 10 meetings and covering the spread 8 times. With a win tonight the Clippers will be just 1.5 games back of the Phoenix Suns for first place in their division.
This game could very well go down the wire, in that scenario I fancy backing the underdog and the extra points. LA has shown a ton of resilience playing without their 2 best players, I have them covering the spread once again vs the Blazers tonight.

The projected total has been set at a very low 214.5 points, not really surprising considering the Clippers have gone under the total in 15 of their last 20 games.
Portland has also leaned more to the under this season going 8-11-1. Against teams from the Pacific Division they are 1-5 on the O/U in their last 6, they rank just 14th in the NBA in offensive rating through the first month or so of the season. Pace wise, Portland is only 28th in the NBA averaging 98.9 possessions per game, the Clippers are also in the bottom 10 which tells me we aren’t going to see a ton of points in this one.
