Portland Trail Blazers – Phoenix Suns Predictions & Odds

Phoenix Suns vs Portland Trail Blazers betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA on TNT game. Following a tough loss at Staples Center last night, the Phoenix Suns look to bounce back with a win against the struggling Portland Trail Blazers. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Phoenix Suns

Phoenix SunsIn what was probably their worst offensive game of the season, the Phoenix Suns were able to shoot just 37.5% from the field last night and stood no chance against a Clippers team that beat them by 16 points. The Suns defense couldn’t do much as they let LA shoot 55% from the field and despite scoring just 9 threes, the Clippers win was never in doubt. The high point man for Phoenix was Cam Johnson who scored 17 off the bench. Chris Paul had only 9 points and 8 assists on the night while shooting just 4-for-14 from the field. Tonight’s game is a solid bounce back opportunity, they’ve beaten the Blazers 4 times in the last 5 meetings and on the road they are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games.

Portland Trail Blazers

Portland Trail BlazersPortland got back Damian Lillard in their last game, but even he couldn’t do much as they lost their 5th game in a row and 8th over their last 9 games. Dame had 24 points and 11 rebounds, but once again struggled from the field and shot just 5-for-17 in the 116-111 loss to Minnesota. He will have to pick up his game as the Blazers will depend on him to get results. His backcourt mate C.J. McCollum will be out for an extended period of time after suffering a collapsed lung due to a hit to his ribs a few games ago. The Blazers are crumbling right now, they’ve covered the spread just once in their last 5 games overall and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 at the Moda Center. What’s even more concerning is the fact that they’ve lost 7 in a row vs West teams.

Phoenix is the complete opposite, they are doing really well vs teams from the Western Conference. They’ve gone 13-2 SU in their last 15 such games and have covered 7 times in the last 10 vs the Blazers. I think they’ll be too good for this struggling Blazers team to handle tonight. Give me Phoenix to cover.

Bettors have profited on the over in meetings between these two teams. The total has gone over 7 times in the last 10 games with the average amount of points scored being 235.8 per game. That is a really high number even for last season’s standards before the rule changes were applied. In the two meetings this season we saw 239 and 228 points scored, so it could be yet another high scoring game tonight. In the last 10 games head-to-head at Moda Center the over has cashed 8 times. Blazer games played on a Tuesday like going over for some reason, this has happened 7 times in the last 8 games. Although both teams will be missing a 20 point per game scorer in Booker and McCollum, they’ve shown in their previous couple of games they can handle that. The Suns play at the 3rd fastest pace in the NBA this season and I expect them to fully control the game here and increase the tempo as that’s the way they’ll get the win here. Let’s back the over.
