Denver Nuggets vs Portland Trail Blazers betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA on TNT game. The Portland Trail Blazers will try to get revenge for their 29-point loss earlier this week as they take on the Denver Nuggets tonight at Moda Center. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Portland Trail Blazers

Portland Trail BlazersAfter that 124-95 win over the Blazers, it’s been all defeats for the Nuggets ever since. Not only did they lose those 4 games, but none of the losses were close games and the average margin of defeat was 14.7 points per game. That should sound the alarm as the team has now dropped to just 9-8 on the season and they currently rank 6th in the loaded Western Conference. Their best player and MVP Nikola Jokic has missed the last two games, he is still listed as ‘day-to-day’ ahead of tonight’s game while he continues to recover from a wrist injury. The Nuggets are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games and they’ve covered the spread just once in their last 6 games on the road.

Denver Nuggets

Denver NuggetsThe 29-point loss against Denver was a wake-up call for Portland and they’ve responded well with 3 wins in a row at home against the Raptors, Bulls and 76ers. The dynamic duo of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum is averaging 42 points per game and is the main reason why this team is on their first 3 game win streak of the season. Portland is one of the best home teams in the NBA with 8 wins in 9 games, they haven’t lost at home since opening night against the Sacramento Kings. They haven’t had much luck against the Nuggets recently though, they’ve beaten them just 3 times in the last 10 meetings and have lost 3 games in a row. The good news is Damian Lillard should finally be back to 100% following his abdominal injury that had slowed him down a bit over his past few games.

Even if Jokic suits up here, the Blazers are a vastly different team at home than on the road this season. The loss against the Nuggets earlier in the season is still in their heads and players like Lillard and McCollum will make sure they make amends in front of the home crowd tonight. I’m backing the Blazers to cover with confidence here.

Portland -5.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

A total of 219 points was scored in that first meeting of the season, which is a good indicator of things to come in tonight’s game. These two teams just love putting the ball in the basket when they play each other. Over the past 10 meetings they’ve averaged 233.7 points per game and the total has gone over 7 times, including the last 3 they played. Offensively the Blazers have the 6th highest rating in the league and at home they are among the leaders in points per game at 116.1. Only the Warriors and Spurs average more at home than the Blazers do. Prior to their 4-game losing streak the Nuggets had the best defensive numbers in the league, but that has changed dramatically. In their last 3 games they are allowing 114.3 points per game, which is an increase of almost 13 points per game compared to their season average. If Jokic isn’t able to go, I can definitely see the Blazers putting up 120 or more on them. Let’s back the over in this one.
