Phoenix Suns

Phoenix SunsFacing a team like the Portland Trail Blazers was just what the doctor ordered for the Phoenix Suns as they were able to end a 2-game slide with a 30-point win. No Chris Paul in the line-up and people were already saying that this team will be toast ahead of the playoffs, but that’s not really the case.

The Suns are much more than just Chris Paul and they’ll look to prove that once again tonight against a Knicks team that they’ve beaten by 21 points earlier in the season at Madison Square Garden.

If we look at head-to-head meetings they’ve had the Knicks’ number for quite some time now beating them 8 times in the last 10 games. At home, they’ve covered the spread vs New York in 4 of the last 5 games as well, so things are looking good for Monty Williams and co. here.

New York Knicks

New York KnicksThe season is pretty much over for the Knicks who are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference and 6 games back from the 10th seeded Atlanta Hawks and the final play-in tournament spot. That’s quite the turnaround from last season’s team which finished 4th and secured home court advantage in the 1st round of the playoffs.

They are coming off back-to-back losses against the Philadelphia 76ers and with the schedule coming up I don’t see them getting many wins in the remaining month or so of the regular season. Derrick Rose still remains out with an ankle issue, I wouldn’t be surprised if he shut it down for the rest of the season as this team is going nowhere at the moment.

New York is 0-7 ATS/SU in the last 7 meetings with Phoenix, they’ve also lost 6 of 7 games vs Western Conference opponents.

Even though the Suns will be shorthanded here without both Chris Paul and Devin Booker, I’m still not giving the Knicks a chance. This team is far better off losing as many games as possible before the season is over to secure a high draft pick. Phoenix can play here without much pressure as they have pretty much secured the 1st seed in the West. Back the home side.

Phoenix Suns vs New York Knicks Predictions & Odds

Over their last 5 games the Knicks have allowed 120 or more points in 3 of them and the lowest amount scored against them was 111 points. The Suns are coming off a 120 point effort against the Blazers despite not having CP3 and Devin Booker.

The total has gone over in 7 of their last 10 games, including 6 of their last 7 vs Eastern Conference opponents. Phoenix has a habit of going over the total far more often than not in home games – they’ve gone 19-15 on the O/U this season so far.

In head-to-head meetings the over has cashed in 6 of 10 and in 4 of the 5 most recent games. New York is a perfect 5-0 on the O/U in their last 5 and they’ve gone over in 4 of 6 vs Pacific Division teams. With the 3 most recent meetings averaging 225.3 points per game I think we could be in for another one of those high scoring outcomes here.

Suns will push the tempo as they have been doing a lot lately. They rank 12th in the NBA in pace of play this season, I can definitely see them getting hot from three-point land against this mediocre Knicks team. Let’s back the points in this one.
