Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s NBA game on ESPN. The Suns hope to wrap up the regular season series as they host the Timberwolves for the 4th and final meeting between the two teams. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
The wait is over and Phoenix Suns fans finally get a chance to see Kevin Durant play a home game for their team. Unless he injures himself once again while warming up. Jokes aside, adding KD to the mix at this point gives the Suns a much needed boost as they look to secure the 4th seed in the West.
Right now they have a half game edge on the Clippers, and with 7 games remaining they get a pretty decent amount of time to work Durant into their offensive and defensive schemes. It’s pretty obvious that this team is going nowhere in the postseason without a healthy Durant, I’m interested to see how he plays after missing almost a month. Phoenix is only 2-7 ATS and 3-6 SU over their last 9 games overall.
The Timberwolves have been a pleasant surprise over their last 5 games wining 4 of them, which is impressive considering they were without Anthony Edwards for a while there. With him back and their other star Karl-Anthony Towns returning after missing over 50 games with a calf injury, Minnesota could make a late push here. KAT made an instant impact scoring clutch baskets in 2 of their last 3 wins. On the road the Wolves have gone 7-2 ATS in their last 9 played, plus they’ve beaten teams from the Western Conference 5 games in a row. However, the Suns will now be a completely different beast with KD on board, so they’ll need everyone to be on top of their game if they are to stand a chance here.
People are quick to write off the Timberwolves here just because Durant came back, I’m not sure if that’s a good idea. They did win the last meeting between the two teams, plus almost their entire team is back from injuries so they’ll put up a ton of resistance here. I’m taking the road team to cover.
Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves Predictions & Odds
One thing is certain with the return of KD and that is the offensive numbers of the Suns will definitely go up. Stopping Durant is mission impossible for every team in the NBA, it will be for Minnesota as well as they don’t really have any quality wing defenders. That’s really good news for us betting on the over, especially since that bet has landed in 4 of the last 5 meetings. Both teams are also trending in that direction – Phoenix has gone over in 5 of 6, while Minnesota has done so in 6 of their last 9.
Having both KAT and Edwards on the floor together makes Minnesota a top 10 offense in my opinion, we saw them score 17 threes in the win at Golden State the other night. You’d be hard pressed to find any flaws in the offense of the Suns, they’re averaging 119.4 points in the last 10 meetings with Minnesota. The Timberwolves are at 111.3 per game during that stretch and with 6 of the last 10 cashing on the over I feel like betting on the points is the correct call here. Take the over.
