Philadelphia 76ers vs Milwaukee Bucks betting tips and predictions for Friday’s NBA game on ESPN. In what will be the 2nd meeting of the season between them, it’s the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center tonight. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
A superhuman effort by Joel Embiid propelled the Philadelphia 76ers to back-to-back wins over Utah and Atlanta and now they are finally back to .500 with a 7-7 record. Embiid first had 42 vs Atlanta and then followed it up with a career-high 59 in the 7 point win over the Jazz scoring more than half of his team’s points.
That tells you all you need to know about the current state of the Sixers team. James Harden remains out with a foot problem, so everything depends on the big man Embiid. They already played the Bucks once this season and lost 90-88 on their home floor, so tonight’s game is a solid opportunity to get revenge against a shorthanded Bucks team. It’s easier said than done though – the 76ers are just 2-8 SU in the last 10 meetings with Milwaukee and have beaten them only once in the last 6 at home.
Injuries have slowed down the Bucks a bit this past week or so. Point-guard Jrue Holiday remains questionable with a ankle injury, but there is hope he could suit up against his former team. Khris Middleton, Wesley Matthews and Pat Connaughton all remain out, so the Bucks depth has taken a hit with all these absences. Even Giannis took a game off against San Antonio, but he brought back the Bucks to winning ways in a 113-98 win over Cleveland last time out. Big man Brook Lopez exploded for 29 points and 7 threes made, something we don’t see that often from him. It all boils down to Giannis though, he is the one penetrating and kicking it out to the open man. Despite his shooting woes over the past couple of games, he is still by far the biggest threat the Sixers face in this game.
It’s never easy beating a team twice in a row on their home floor. Joel Embiid is playing on another level right now, I can definitely see him getting revenge for that 2-point loss earlier in the season against Milwaukee. Give me the home team to cover here.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Milwaukee Bucks Predictions & Odds
Scoring becomes a luxury when the 76ers play at home and when the Bucks play on the road. These two teams have combined to go just 3-10 on the O/U in those two scenarios, so we are likely going to see both teams concentrate more on the defensive side of things in tonight’s game. And that is to be expected since both could be without their primary ball handlers Holiday and Harden. Philly has gone under in 4 of their last 5 games overall and in 7 of their last 9 at home. Milwaukee is also trending heavily on the under with 7 of 9 games cashing on that bet, they failed to clear the 100-point mark in 2 of their last 3 games away from home. The first meeting of the season ended with a final score of 90-88, I think the two teams go a bit over that number, but nowhere close to the projected total of 218 points here. Let’s go with the under.
