With just 1 win in 4 games, the road trip was unsuccessful for the Sixers. The good news is they return home where they are 26-11 SU this season, however there’s still concern surrounding their 2 best players as both Joel Embiid and James Harden are doubtful for tonight’s game.
Neither of them suited up on Monday in Denver as the 76ers fell by 5 points, however the Cavaliers who are behind them in the standings couldn’t capitalize on that loss as they dropped a game in Atlanta last night. That means Philly still has a 2-game edge and the tie-breaker over the Cavs in the 3rd seed with just 7 games left. They will be basing their optimism on their 11-4 SU run over the last 15 games against Western Conference teams here.
Dallas Mavericks
The pressure of winning is a lot higher on the road team here as the Mavs are currently outside of the playoff picture in the West. Last night’s OKC loss does help them, but they still have to win here in order to leap over them for the 10th spot in the West. Dallas was able to bounce back after a pair of embarrassing losses against Charlotte as they beat Indiana 127-104 on Monday.
Luka Doncic had his 16th technical foul rescinded and was able to play, he led the way with 26 points and 6 assists. As a team the Mavs shot over 56% from the field and drained 18 threes, if they can be as productive in tonight’s game they have every right to hope for an upset win here. They’ve been the better team in recent head-to-head meetings covering the spread in 7 of the last 10 and beating the Sixers in 13 of the last 20 played.
It all comes down to availability here, if both Harden and Embiid are out then I can’t see how Philly handles the offensive onslaught of the Mavs. Dallas has covered in 5 of 7 games, I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt here and back them to do so in Philadelphia as well.

The O/U trends speak more in the favor of the under, but things have changed dramatically for these Mavs since they’ve gotten Irving, they’re way more focused on scoring as opposed to getting stops.
