The 3-point shot was falling once again as they connected on 20 of 48 shots, Donovan Mitchell in particular was on fire all night long and finished with 35 points and 6 assists. Utah likes playing the Eastern Conference, they’ve gone 4-1 SU in their last 5 games and against Philadelphia they are a really good 12-6 SU in the last 18 meetings. However, covering the spread hasn’t been easy, especially on the road in Philly. The Jazz are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 visits and 2-7 ATS in the last 9 overall against them. The good news is Hasan Whiteside has been updated to questionable as he recovers from a gluteus injury, another big body down low could do the Jazz well as they’ll need effort to stop Joel Embiid.

Speaking of Embiid, the big man is coming off yet another big performance as he dropped 32 points on the Charlotte Hornets to lead Philly to their 3rd straight and 4th win in 5 games. He did not play in the earlier meeting this season against the Jazz which Philadelphia lost 120-85, when half of the team was out due to health and safety protocols. This is the perfect opportunity to get revenge and split the regular season series in front of the home fans. Sixers are 6-3 SU in their last 9 games vs Northwest Division opponents. As far as injuries go they are the healthiest they’ve been all season long, so we can definitely expect a much better effort from this team as opposed to what we saw a couple of weeks ago in Salt Lake City.
Philly enters tonight’s game as the underdog, despite playing at home. They’ve covered 7 times in the last 10 vs the Jazz, I’m excited to see Embiid and Gobert go at it down low. These two teams have both been involved in some high scoring games lately, but that has to do more with their opponents being weak on the defensive end other than anything else. I’m expecting a much better effort on that end from both sides tonight, but the thing that’s bothering me is Utah’s solid shooting from distance. If they are able to keep that up we are in for a ton of points here. The 3 most recent meetings have produced an average of 238.6 points per game and 2 of them went over the total. Utah’s last 5 road games have all gone over the total, if we look at their last 10 overall we can see 9 of them going over. Philly has allowed 124 and 106 points in 2 games against the Charlotte Hornets, so they could opt to run with the Jazz in this one. I’m leaning towards the over so let’s back that.
