After allowing 150 and 134 points in their last 2 games vs Brooklyn and Detroit, the Orlando Magic have bounced back with a low scoring win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday 90-85.
It wasn’t the prettiest of games to watch as both teams shot below 40% from the field, but in the end Orlando scraped through thanks to Wendell Carter Jr. who finished with 30 points and 16 rebounds.
It was only their 2nd win in 7 home games, for the season they are just 9-26 SU at the Amway Center which is one of the worst records in the entire league. When it comes to meetings with the Warriors, Orlando has gone just 2-6 ATS in their last 6 at home and they are also on a 9-game losing streak vs teams from the Pacific Division.
Golden State Warriors
Despite a 20-point improvement over their last 2 games, the Golden State Warriors fell for the 2nd game in a row against San Antonio on Sunday 110-108. It was the 2nd game in a row they allowed 110 points, not having Stephen Curry took it’s toll on offence as well, but they at least managed to somewhat improve on that end.
They could also be without Andrew Wiggins tonight as he has been listed as day-to-day with a knee problem. It’ll be a welcome sight for them to face a team like Orlando as they are in desperate need of a win to keep hold of the 3rd seed in the West as the Utah Jazz are just 2.5 games behind with 10 games to go.
Bettors have been happy with the Warriors lately as they’ve covered the spread in 5 of their last 7 games, against the Eastern Conference they are 14-6 SU over their last 20 games so there’s a ton of optimism ahead of tonight’s game.
Golden State won the 1st meeting by 31 points, so even though they’ll be without Curry here they should still get it done against an average Orlando side. They’ve beaten the Magic in 14 of 17 games head-to-head, let’s back the road team to cover here.
Orlando Magic vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds
The projected total has been set to just 216.5 points here, so it could be one of those slower paced games. The Warriors have gone under in 5 of their last 6 and have struggled to score the ball as of late. For the season they are 30-39-2 on the O/U as they face an Orlando team that’s gone under in 8 of their last 12 games.
The Magic have a habit of going under the total against Western Conference opponents, mainly because they struggle scoring the ball against said teams. Their last 6 such games have all gone under the total and they are coming off just a 90-point night against Oklahoma City. Over their last 3 games they are averaging just 106 points per game and at home for the season they are at 104.2 per game.
I expect the Warrior’s defence to go up a notch now that Draymond Green is back, so don’t be surprised if the Magic finish below 100 points here just like they did in the first meeting of the season. Go with the under.
