New York Knicks vs Orlando Magic betting tips and predictions for Monday’s NBA Game on NBA TV. The Knicks look to stay undefeated at home this season as they host the winless Orlando Magic at Madison Square Garden. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
New York Knicks
After a tough OT loss on opening night in Memphis, the Knicks bounced back with a big home win over the Detroit Pistons 130-106 on Friday. It was a solid team effort as 6 players scored in double figures, led by a 20 point effort off the bench by Immanuel Quickley. As a team New York connected on 16 threes and 52.6% of their shots from the field, both encouraging signs ahead of tonight’s game.
They face an Orlando team that they’ve split the last 10 games with, so it will be important to avoid complacency here. Covering the spread had been an issue lately in home games, New York is only 4-11 ATS in their last 15 at MSG. They do have the rest advantage over Orlando as the Magic have played a day later and had to travel in between games.
The Magic are still searching for their first win of the season as they fell to 0-3 after their 126-120 home loss to the Boston Celtics. Although they put up 120 points in the loss, defensively they couldn’t do much against the Celtics who drained 19 threes on 40% shooting from distance. Jayson Tatum was a problem all night long as he ended the game with 40-points. Veteran Terrance Ross led the scoring with 29 for Orlando, while rookie sensation Paolo Banchero added 23, but he wasn’t very efficient from the field scoring on just 6 of 19 shots.
Bench production has been an issue for Orlando, they got just 21 points in the loss to Boston, that will have to change if they want to get off the mark in tonight’s game. Gary Harris, Jonathan Isaac, Markelle Fultz, Moritz Wagner and Jalen Suggs could all miss tonight’s game.
With so many injuries to their roster and the experience clearly being on New York’s side here, I am siding with the Knicks to get the job done at home. They are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs Southeast Division teams and should be able to beat the Magic by at least 8 points here. Back New York.
New York Knicks vs Orlando Magic Predictions & Odds
Orlando’s ball movement has been a problem and as a result they are one of the worst offensive teams on the road so far this season averaging just a tad over 103 points per game. After holding the Pistons to just 106 points in their last game, the Knicks are hoping for another defensive showing against a team that’s clearly struggling to score. It’s worth pointing out that the Magic are shooting under 30% from three-point land as well, plus from the free-throw line they rank only 20th in the NBA connecting on just 73% of attempts.
The under has also been a productive bet in head-to-head meetings at Madison Square Garden with the bet landing 7 times in the last 9 games there. New York has a habit of going under against teams from their own conference with 5 of their last 6 such games cashing on that bet. This game has the under written all over it, so I think that’s our smartest option here.
