The Knicks stopped the bleeding with a huge 137-115 home win over the Houston Rockets on Monday. Immanuel Quickley led the way with 40 points, as Jalen Brunson missed yet another game. With the playoffs just around the corner, his health is becoming an issue and if he isn’t fully recovered the Knicks could face issues in the first round vs Cleveland.
Brunson and Derrick Rose are both on the injury report for tonight’s game, against a tough team like Miami they could definitely use them. New York does lead the regular season series 2-1, but both of their wins were by just 2 points so it promises to be another close game tonight. New York has covered in 8 of their last 10 home games, plus they are 13-6 SU/ATS in their last 19 games overall.
Miami Heat
The Heat will be playing on their 2nd night of a back-to-back here, following last night’s disappointing loss in Toronto. Jimmy Butler didn’t suit up for that game due to a neck issue, but he could be ready for tonight’s game at MSG. Miami has a positive record of 10 wins in the last 14 meetings with the Knicks, after back-to-back losses to Brooklyn and Toronto they could definitely use a win here.
Playoff seeding isn’t all that big of an issue for them, they pretty much have the 6th seed wrapped up as long as they stay ahead of the Atlanta Hawks and win their division. However, they did beat the Knicks 5 days ago in Miami so they’ll be optimistic tonight at MSG as well, regardless if Butler plays or not.
Miami is in all kind of a mess right now, I’m not ready to trust them here. The Knicks have been one of the tougher home teams in the East, they’ve covered in 42 of 76 games this year. I’ll take my chances by backing the home team here.
