New Orleans Pelicans vs Golden State Warriors betting tips and predictions for Monday’s NBA game on NBA TV. Fresh off their 1st road win of the season, the Warriors travel to New Orleans for a date with the Pelicans. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
New Orleans Pelicans
New Orleans comes into tonight’s game following a loss against Boston which ended a 3-game win streak. Zion Williamson didn’t play in that game, but the good news is he might make a return to the line-up tonight. In the one game vs Golden State this season he finished with 16 points on an efficient 7-for-11 from the field. His presence would be a huge boost for the Pels who are hoping to leap over the Dallas Mavericks in their division standings with a win here.
The Pels have covered in 4 of their last 6 games, but the bad news is they’ve won just 3 of their last 11 Monday games. They enter tonight’s game as 4.5 point favorites, so far this season they’ve been in that situation 10 times and have a 6-4 SU record.
Golden State Warriors
Warriors fans can finally celebrate a win on the road as they took down the Houston Rockets last night 127-120. We saw a vintage performance by the Splash brothers Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. Thompson had 41 points and 10 made threes, while Steph chipped in with 33 and 15 assists. Andrew Wiggins also added 22 and 6 threes made, as a team the Warriors shot 24-for-47 from distance which proved to be the difference maker.
Can they repeat that tonight with such a short turnaround against the Pelicans? That is a good question. They’ve been successful in recent head-to-head meetings winning 11 of the last 16 games and with Thompson finally getting back into his groove they have a solid chance of improving that run.
I feel like although the Warriors played really well last night, this aging roster could struggle with fatigue tonight against a rested young Pelicans side. New Orleans already beat them this season, I have the Pels winning by at least 5 points here.
New Orleans Pelicans vs Golden State Predictions & Odds
Last night’s 127 points was one of the best offensive performances so far this season by the Warriors and they’ll look to back it up with a similar showing tonight in New Orleans. They’ve had some really big scoring games vs the Pelicans lately – in the last 7 meetings they topped the 120-point mark a total of 4 times, with two of those games taking place in New Orleans.
They’ll have to keep the momentum going following the 24 threes they scored last night, the Pelicans are slightly better than the Rockets at defending the perimeter though. This team is 4th best in the NBA in opponent three-point percentage holding teams to just 33.4% from downtown, so the Warriors could struggle with scoring a bit in this one. New Orleans has gone under in 5 of 8 home games this season, they hold the advantage in key areas over the Warriors, so I think the home team wins here and we go under the total.
