New Orleans comes into tonight’s game following a loss against Boston which ended a 3-game win streak. Zion Williamson didn’t play in that game, but the good news is he might make a return to the line-up tonight. His presence would be a huge boost for the Pels who are hoping to leap over the Dallas Mavericks in their division standings with a win here.
The Pels have covered in 4 of their last 6 games, but the bad news is they’ve won just 3 of their last 11 Monday games. They enter tonight’s game as 4.5 point favorites, so far this season they’ve been in that situation 10 times and have a 6-4 SU record.
Golden State Warriors
Warriors fans can finally celebrate a win on the road as they took down the Houston Rockets last night 127-120. We saw a vintage performance by the Splash brothers Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. Thompson had 41 points and 10 made threes, while Steph chipped in with 33 and 15 assists. Andrew Wiggins also added 22 and 6 threes made, as a team the Warriors shot 24-for-47 from distance which proved to be the difference maker.
Can they repeat that tonight with such a short turnaround against the Pelicans? That is a good question. They’ve been successful in recent head-to-head meetings winning 11 of the last 16 games and with Thompson finally getting back into his groove they have a solid chance of improving that run.
I feel like although the Warriors played really well last night, this aging roster could struggle with fatigue tonight against a rested young Pelicans side. New Orleans already beat them this season, I have the Pels winning by at least 5 points here.
