The way their season has played out so far, the OKC Thunder could very well change their name to the OKC Comeback Kings. They were down by double-digits in all 3 wins so far this season, but they managed to come back in all 3 of them and are slowly building a reputation despite being one of the youngest teams in the NBA. In their latest win over San Antonio they were down by as many as 16 points, but a 20-point turnaround in the 3rd quarter sealed the deal for them at home. They are now 2-2 at the Paycom Center and have a pretty good chance to go over .500 against a team they’ve beaten 5 times in the last 7 meetings. The Thunder are a respectable 5-1 ATS over their last 6 games.
New Orleans Pelicans
I know we’re still only in November, but I’m afraid the New Orleans Pelicans can already start looking forward to next season as things are simply falling off track in this one. They have the worst record in the NBA, their two leading scorers are out and they rank near the bottom in almost every relevant statistical category. In their last two games they mustered only 85 and 92 points and lost by an average of 28.5 points per game against the Warriors and Mavs. The disappointments just keep on pilling up and I cannot really see when this is going to turn around for them. They’ve gone just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games and have dropped 5 straight at home.
And despite all that the oddsmakers have the Pelicans as the favorites here for some reason. Seems a bit odd, but good for us to take advantage of a good price. These two teams are among the lower tier in the NBA when it comes to offensive talent, especially the Pelicans with so many important players being out due to injury.
