Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s NBA game at Target Center. The defending champs bring their 3-game win streak into Minneapolis tonight as they take on the Timberwolves for the 2nd time this regular season. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota TimberwolvesAfter splitting their last 2 home games with the Sacramento Kings, the Timberwolves are hoping to avenge a 23 point loss to the Golden State Warriors from earlier in the season. The road team scored on 57.5% of their shots in that game and made 20 threes on 47 attempts, so there’s definitely room for improvement on defense for Minnesota entering tonight’s game.

What could make their life a bit more difficult is the fact that they could be without 3-time defensive player of the year Rudy Gobert as he’s dealing with a groin injury. The T-Wolves will be counting on their home form here as they’ve won 9 of 11 games at Target Center, which is really impressive considering their best player Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t played in over a month now. Anthony Edwards has taken over the keys on offense, it’ll be interesting to see how the Warriors defend him tonight.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State WarriorsDefense hasn’t been a priority for Golden State lately, but they’ve been winning games by simply outscoring their opponents. That strategy has worked to perfection over their last 4 of 5 games in which they’ve scored at least 120 points, confidence will be on a high level here even if they are just 7-18 SU on the road this season.

Andre Iguodala is the only notable absentee due to injury right now, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a fully healthy Warriors roster. Winning against Minnesota would be a big deal considering just half a game separates the two teams in the West standings. Golden State has covered in 5 of 7 games, they enter tonight as 2.5 point favorites.

3 of the last 4 Warriors victories have been by more than 3 points, so I’m feeling really good about backing them here. Minnesota’s defense hasn’t been really confidence inspiring, that was on full display back in late November when these two teams met in this same building. I’m thinking a similar result could be on the cards here, so let’s back the road team.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds

These teams have made a lot of money for bettors who have backed the over in their last 10 meetings, with 8 games cashing on that bet. Neither team has excelled on that end of the floor this season, Minnesota ranks 11th in defensive efficiency, while the champs are only 16th. That could haunt them down the line in the playoffs, but there’s still a lot of time left to change certain habits.

With a healthy roster at his disposal, I’m thinking head coach Steve Kerr will play a faster tempo here, after all these are the 3rd and 7th ranked offenses in the NBA in terms of pace. With the last 3 most recent head-to-head meetings all resulting in an over and 244.3 points averaged in those games, I think backing the over is a no-brainer here, so let’s go with that.
