Minnesota Timberwolves
Although they got 41 points from Anthony Edwards in Game 2, the Timberwolves have been really disappointed with how things have gone in this series so far. They’re getting beaten in almost every single aspect on both ends of the court, and what makes matters even worse they’re not confident at all in turning things around.
ESPN’s Analytics have given Minnesota only 28.1% of a chance to win Game 3, we all know how devastating it would be to go down 3-0 in the series as no team ever has come back from that deficit. The good news for Minnesota fans is that they’re playing home, during the regular season they were 22-19 SU in games played at Target Center, two of those wins came against the Denver Nuggets which should give them some optimism here.
Denver Nuggets
Nikola Jokic and co. seem to be in a hurry to get this series over and you can’t really blame them. They are the much better team and the sooner they get things over with here, the better. Injuries have taken a toll on this team in the last few years, so if they can sweep this series that would benefit them a ton moving forward. It sounds way easier than it really is, however I’m optimistic after watching their first 2 wins of this series, in which they’ve covered the spread in both of them.
The Nuggets offense hasn’t fail them in a long time, although they finished the regular season only 4th in efficiency on that end, they spent the majority of the year as the most efficient offensive team. Jamal Murray dropping 40 points in Game 2 was an encouraging sign as well, everyone is wondering when we will see bubble Murray raise to the occasion.
I think Minnesota could get one game, but Denver has been so good in this series I’m not sure they’ll allow that to happen tonight. Going up 3-0 would we very demoralizing to the Timberwolves, I think the Nuggets have every right to feel optimistic ahead of tonight’s game. Go with the road favorites.

So far only 1 quarter in this series was dominated by the Timberwolves offensively and that was the 3rd one of Game 2. Aside from that, it’s been all Denver on defense and Minnesota hasn’t been able to get anything going. The first game revealed a ton of flaws in their play, and although they were able to fix some things in Game 2, they still scored only 113 points. The projected total is at 222.5 points for tonight’s game, if the Nuggets play their style the two teams will have a hard time reaching that number.
The under has landed 12 times in the last 15 Nuggets games, I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the regular season averages in head-to-head meetings as things are vastly different in the postseason. Minnesota has also gone under in 12 of 17 home games and in 11 of 15 vs Western Conference opponents. I think this game has the under written all over it, so let’s go with that.
