New York Knicks vs Minnesota Timberwolves betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s game in the NBA. The shorthanded Minnesota Timberwolves are looking for their 4th straight home win as they host the New York Knicks. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

New York Knicks

New York KnicksThe Knicks celebrated a 14-point home win on Christmas day over the shorthanded Atlanta Hawks and are now just 3 games away from a .500 record. Currently in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, this team is one of the biggest underachievers this season, following a playoff berth last season. There is still time to turn things around, however they’ll have to start winning consistently and soon. Playing on the road this season they are 8-7 so there’s one reason to be optimistic ahead of tonight’s game. Most of their players are back from quarantine, however they’ll be without Derrick Rose for a while after he suffered an ankle injury. Kemba Walker is making most of the opportunity with Rose out, he was just named Eastern Conference player of the week following a series of big games. If the Knicks want to get anything out of tonight’s game, Kemba will have to continue his stellar play here.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota TimberwolvesHe will be going up against a Minnesota team which has 7 players still in quarantine, including their 3 stars D’Angelo Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. However, this team has coped surprisingly well with the absence of those 3 going 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games and winning 5 of those. Minnesota is also 8-3 SU in their last 11 at Target Center, but against Eastern Conference teams they’ve won just once in their last 5 games. One of those wins happened last night as they beat the Boston Celtics 108-103 behind 29 points and 6 threes from Jaylen Nowell off the bench. Nathan King also contributed with 20 points and 11 boards, and if you’re unaware who those players are don’t worry, you are not alone.

Both teams have been hit hard by the health and safety protocols, but New York seems to be doing a bit better lately. Minnesota could get a couple players back for this one, but that has the potential of ruining their chemistry a bit, so I’d lean slightly on the Knicks side for this one as they are 8-7 ATS on the road this season. Back New York to cover.

Knicks -4.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

Knick road games have been very productive scoring wise. In their last 6 away from home the over has cashed 5 times and they are scoring 107.7 points per game in their last 3 outings. The Timberwolves are exactly 1 point better at 108.7 per game over their last 3. Just like the Knicks, the over has also been landing for them consistently lately in 8 of the last 10 games. Not really surprising considering they play at the 5th fastest pace in the NBA averaging 102.1 possessions per game. For most of the season the Knicks were a bottom 3 team when it comes to pace, that has changed significantly in the month of December as they’ve jumped all the way to 22nd with 98.3 possessions per game. Having the 12th best offensive efficiency in the league has also helped with that. One area New York still has to work on is their defense as they rank just 18th in defensive efficiency. Having Kemba Walker start at point-guard is a defensive liability, but he can compensate for that with stellar play on the other end. I think backing the over is the smart bet in this one.
