You’d think the Bucks would be a in solid position with Khris Middleton scoring 33 points in a game, but after losing their best player Giannis Antetokounmpo early in the game they just fell apart and couldn’t do much against the Heat. The MVP candidate fell awkwardly on his back in the 1st quarter of Sunday’s game, he tried playing through it but the pain was too big and he was forced to leave for good.
According to the latest injury report he should be available for tonight’s game, the number 1 seed would be in big trouble without it’s best player. Prior to that defeat over the weekend, Milwaukee had won 15 of 19 home games, and was on a 7-game win streak vs teams from the Southeast Division.
Miami Heat
The Heat also lost one of their key players in Sunday’s game as Tyler Herro broke 2 fingers diving for a loose ball early in the game. Obviously that’s not as big of a loss as Giannis was for Miami, so the Heat were able to keep their composure and got a huge 130-117 road victory. Not a lot of people expected them to win that series opener, they went into the game as double-digit underdogs according to some oddsmakers.
Playoff Jimmy Butler delivered a huge performance with 35 points and 11 assists, while Bam Adebayo added 22 and Kevin Love turned back the clock with 18 points and 8 rebounds off the bench. The Heat got the split they wanted before the series started, but now they’ll aim to take full control of the series and go up 2-0 against a wounded Milwaukee side.
Although the Bucks are 6 point favorites, I still think the game will be a close one as Giannis clearly won’t be at 100% here. Miami has proven it’s doubters wrong so many times this season, they’ll look to play physical here and I’m curious to see how the Bucks respond. I’ll take my chances with Miami to cover on the road.

It’s not often we see a Miami Heat game ending with 247 points, but that’s exactly what happened on Sunday. They shot almost 60% from the field and were able to knock down 15 of 25 threes in what was probably their best offensive game of the year. The Bucks relied mostly on their three-point shot and that’s what cost them the game as they went 11 for 45 from deep.
Without Giannis their inside presence was non-existent so the Heat had a pretty easy job keeping them outside the paint. With Antetokounmpo being bothered by a bad back here, I’m not sure if he will force his way on the inside. Milwaukee has to get something going from the perimeter. I expect the Heat to be all over them here, it’s time we see a low scoring game between these two teams. Back the under.
