Injuries have taken a bit of a toll on the Bucks who have won just 1 of their last 4 games. First it was both Jrue Holiday and Giannis Antetokounmpo missing games, now with Giannis back and Holiday not playing the team is struggling heavily, especially on offense.
They scored only 106 points in the loss against Atlanta, with Giannis going just 8-for-21 from the field. They have a solid opportunity to bounce back tonight vs a team they’ve owned in recent head-to-head meetings. Milwaukee is 7-1 SU in the last 8 vs the Cavs, because of that the oddsmakers have them favored by 4 points here. The status of Holiday is still up in the air as he is questionable with an ankle injury. Joining him on the sidelines could be Pat Connaughton, Grayson Allen and Wesley Matthews.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs have a pretty long injury list of their own with Jarrett Allen, Dean Wade and Donovan Mitchell all being questionable for tonight’s game. After a hot start to the season they’ve cooled off losing their last 4, mainly because of the absence of Mitchell who has carried them offensively averaging 31.6 points per game. Darius Garland is trying his best to carry the extra weight on his back, he just had 51 points, but the Cavs lost to Minnesota 129-124.
The defense has really struggled as of late allowing 129, 127 and 119 points in 3 of their last 4 games, if things don’t improve drastically tonight they could be facing another loss here. On the road the Cavs have just 6 wins in their last 20 games, however they have covered in their last 7 vs Eastern Conference opponents, something to think about before making a bet on tonight’s game.
Both teams have been hit hard by the injury bug. After a sub-par game against Atlanta, I think Giannis will be eager to bounce back with a big game here. However, the same can be said for Donovan Mitchell, if he plays that adds a totally new dimension to the Cavs offense. I’m taking the Bucks, but if Mitchell plays I’d consider a bet on Cleveland instead.
