Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee BucksGiannis Antetokounmpo took the night off and the defending champs didn’t have a chance against the Minnesota Timberwolves as they got destroyed 138-119 over the weekend. He has been upgraded to probable ahead of tonight’s game, so we are most likely going to see him suit up. Khris Middleton won’t be playing though as he has been ruled out with a wrist injury.

That’s a big blow to the Milwaukee ambitions here as he is an integral part of their team alongside Giannis and Jrue Holiday. The Bucks have caught fire lately winning 8 of their last 10 games to improve to 2nd place in the East standings, they’ve also covered the spread in 6 of their last 8 games going into tonight’s game as 6-point favourites. In that role this season they are 40-17 SU and against the Bulls they’ve been dominant winning 9 of the last 10 meetings.

Chicago Bulls

Chicago BullsChicago is 0-15 SU on the season against top 3 teams from each Conference and that’s the biggest gripe I have with this team. When it comes to beating the lesser teams they haven’t disappointed, they’re just coming off a big home win over Toronto 113-99 as DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine each had 26 points.

But, in the 2 games prior to this win they lost to Phoenix and Utah which is concerning for a team that has an ambition of making it at least to the Eastern Conference Finals. They won’t get there if they cannot win games on the road, they’ve failed to cover in 7 straight away from the United Center and against the Bucks they are currently on a 6-game losing streak at Fiserv Forum.

To top it off, head coach Billy Donovan just announced that Lonzo Ball suffered a setback in an attempt to return from his injury earlier than expected, so that’s another blow to their ambitions.

It was a close game in the 1st meeting of the season in Milwaukee as the Bucks came out on top 94-90. They won the 2nd meeting by 6 on the road and I expect them to be dominant here again. They’ve owned the Bulls over the past couple of years, I can’t see that changing even with the absence of Middleton. Back the home team to cover.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Chicago Bulls Predictions & Odds

Over their last 5 games, the Bucks are allowing 122.4 points per game which is a substantial increase compared to their season average of 111.3 per game.

They will need to tighten things up here against a Bulls team that’s averaged 108.3 per game over their last 3. In the last 10 meetings, they’ve held them to just 103.6 points per game while scoring 114.8 points. The total has gone under in 7 of those 10 meetings and both games played this season finished under the projected total of 231.5 set here.

The under has cashed in 10 of 12 games for Chicago, including 7 of their 8 most recent. Against East teams, they’ve gone under in 5 straight. Milwaukee has had a tendency to go over the total in 13 of 18 games lately, but against teams from the Central Division, the under has landed 6 times in 7 games.

This being a 2nd night of a back-to-back for the Bulls, they might opt to slow things down or even rest LaVine and Vucevic here who have just recovered from injuries. Expect a low scoring number here, back the under.
