Despite getting hit by an elbow and bleeding from his eye, Giannis Antetokounmpo still managed to drop 40 points and lead his Bucks to an upset win in Game 5 on the road. Jrue Holiday also came up big down the stretch with a couple of important blocks and steals, finishing the game with 24 points and 8 assists.
The defending champions once again regained home court advantage in the series and now have a chance to close things out in front of the home fans. So far things have worked out well despite them not having Khris Middleton available, as he’s out with a knee injury.
However, what worries me is the fact that they’ve failed to cover in their last 6 home games against the Celtics and in tonight’s game they are 1.5 point favourites. The good news is, aside from Middleton they are fully healthy and can afford to lose here unlike Boston.

People are still wondering how the Celtics were able to lose Game 5 after shooting 51% from the field and leading by 6 points with just over 2 minutes to go in regulation. Jayson Tatum had a solid game with 34 points, however it took him 29 shots to get there which is something he will need to work on ahead of tonight’s game. Jaylen Brown also chipped in with 26, but it wasn’t enough as the Celtics failed to convert late in the game and now their season is on the line.
It doesn’t help them that Al Horford cooled off and had just 8 points following a couple of throwback performances in the 2 games before Game 5. He too will have to play a lot better tonight, with Robert Williams III finally returning to the line-up that should be a boost for Horford who finally gets someone who can help him on the inside. The Celtics are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 road games and have covered in 6 straight against Milwaukee on their own floor.
I have a feeling that this series is far from over. Something tells me Boston is more than capable of forcing a Game 7, they’ve proven to be one of the elite defences in our game and that’s what wins you games at this stage of the season. If Dallas is able to push Phoenix to the brink, then I think Boston is capable of doing so as well. Give me the Cs to cover on the road.

This series has gone under the total 3 times already considering we have only the 8th and 11th best scoring teams facing off in this postseason. Their defences have been on point though, Bucks rank 2nd in the playoffs allowing under 100 points per game, while Boston is 6th with 104.9 points per game allowed. So if both teams stay close to their averages we should get a fairly low scoring output in this one.
If we analyze the stats historically, over the last 18 seasons Game 6s have gone under the total in 83 of 146 such games, so I think there’s a fairly solid chance of that happening tonight as well. With so much at stake and Boston’s season on the line, I think every possession will count tonight so let’s back the under.
