Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks betting tips and predictions for Saturday’s NBA game on ABC. It’s a big game on Christmas Day in the Eastern Conference as the Milwaukee Bucks host the Boston Celtics. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
The Celtics come into tonight’s game after exchanging wins and losses in their last 5, they did beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 3 days ago 111-101 at home. Tonight they take on a team they’ve already beaten twice this season, however this game will pose a different challenge than either of those 2 did. Boston will be missing a ton of players due to health and safety protocols, plus Al Horford and Marcus Smart are listed as questionable due to other injuries. My biggest worry for Celtics fans coming into this game is their form away from home, they’ve got only 1 win in their last 5 games, however against the Bucks they’ve covered in 5 straight so that’s 1 reason to be optimistic here.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been cleared to play tonight, after spending several games in health and safety protocols. The Bucks could really use him as they have only 2 wins in their last 4 games, struggling with injuries all season long. He did play in the recent head-to-head meeting some 2 weeks ago, but Milwaukee couldn’t do much in that game. It’s revenge time tonight as the Bucks have won 10 of their last 11 at home and have 10 wins in their last 13 games played on a Saturday. Giannis just brings a different element to this team both offensively and defensively. Covering for him in his absence was DeMarcus Cousins who had 22 points and 8 rebounds in their latest win over Houston.
With the big 3 back and fully healthy for Milwaukee, I think the Bucks will dominate here. Boston has had chemistry issues all season long, especially between Brown and Tatum, so much that we are hearing trade rumors of the team trying to move one of those two guys. I’m going to take the Bucks to continue their solid home form here.
Milwaukee Bucks – Boston Celtics Predictions & Odds
Milwaukee -7 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365
These 2 have trended slightly towards the under in their last 10 meetings with that bet landing 6 times. However, their most recent games against other opponents have gone under more often than not. The Bucks have gone under in 5 of 7, while Boston has gone in 4 of their last 6. This is mostly noticeable in their games against East teams where the under has gone 5-1 in the last 6 for Boston and in 5 in a row for the Bucks. Milwaukee will most likely be without Portis here, he has emerged as one of their biggest surprises offensively this season. In their last 3 they’re averaging just 106 per game, almost 4 less than their season average. Boston is at 109.3 per game in their last 3, so if both teams stick to their most recent averages we won’t see a ton of points scored in this one. They are only the 9th and 21st fastest paced teams in the NBA this season, I think backing the under is the smart bet here.
