Miami Heat

Miami HeatThe Heat let down a lot of folks in their last game after they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 113-106. Losing to the 76ers in itself isn’t something to be ashamed of, but they rested both Joel Embiid and James Harden in that game and the Heat failed to capitalize on that. Tyrese Maxey lit them up for 28 points and as a team Philadelphia shot 50% from the field, which is very uncharacteristic for this Miami squad. Jimmy Butler returned after missing 1 game scoring 27 points.

He was also joined by Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry who had 22 and 20 points, but unfortunately for Heat fans it wasn’t enough. They still retained the number 1 seed in the East though, but the lead is now down to just 2 games over the Bucks who are lurking in 2nd place. With an impressive 5-1 ATS record in the last 6 home games vs Golden State, they should be alright here.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State WarriorsSomeone who hasn’t been alright lately are the Golden State Warriors who are struggling really hard without their main man Stephen Curry. Steph injured his ankle against Boston about a week ago and he won’t return at least until early April, which is concerning as the playoffs are just a couple of weeks away.

They suffered another disappointing loss last night at Orlando 94-90 which is inexcusable for a team that’s aiming to win a championship this year. Jordan Poole was the only highlight for them with 26 points, as a team they shot only 40% from the field and looked lost most of the possessions out there.

I must say I can’t see that changing so quickly against one of the top rated defences in the NBA. The Warriors have won just once in their last 6 road games and are 6-12 ATS in their last 18 overall.

Covering a 7-point margin is never easy against a Warriors team, but the way they are playing right now Miami could win this one by double-digits. The Heat should be at full strength here, they’ve gone 26-9 SU at home this season and I expect that to improve after tonight’s game. Back the home side to cover.

Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds

Despite the over landing in 6 of the last 7 meetings between these two teams, I am not convinced we will see that many points scored tonight. The Orlando Magic who ranks 20th in the NBA in defensive efficiency were able to hold the Warriors to just 90 points last night. Their offence looks out of sync at the moment and without their best player in the line-up they’ve cracked the 100-point mark only once in their last 3 outings.

The Heat rank 4th in defensive efficiency giving up 105.3 points per 100 possessions, tonight’s game will be a good test for them ahead of the playoffs. Their last 3 opponents have scored 106.3 points per game, we’ll see if they can lower that number a bit here.

The total has gone under in 6 of their last 9 games played on a Wednesday and for the Warriors that has happened in 6 of their last 7 games overall. With that said, I think backing the under is the way to go here.
