Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls betting tips and predictions for Friday’s NBA play-in game on TNT. It all comes down to one final game for the Heat and Bulls as they square off for a chance to play Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference first round. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Miami Heat

Miami HeatThe Heat were a massive disappointment against Atlanta on Tuesday losing by 11 points, but the good thing about the 7 vs 8 play-in matchup is that you get one more chance to redeem yourself. Jimmy Butler didn’t have the best of games shooting just 6-for-19 from the field, it was just the type of inconsistency we’ve seen from Miami during the regular season and it’s now spilled over into the play-in tournament as well.

The Heat will have a tough time vs Chicago as they’ve lost all 3 regular season meetings against them, including both games played in Miami. Kyle Lowry carried Miami with 33 points vs Atlanta, but I find it hard to believe at this stage of his career he has it in him to repeat that performance here. With the Heat covering just 3 times in their last 9 games, I’m finding it difficult to find reasons to back them to cover as 5.5 point favorites here.

Chicago Bulls

Chicago BullsWhat a turn of events it was for Chicago in their play-in game at Toronto on Wednesday night as they crawled back from 19 points down to win by 4 points. Despite knocking down just 7 threes, they were still able to win against 6-point favorites the Raptors, and now they turn their attention to Miami whose number they’ve had for a while.

Zach LaVine carried the offense with 39 points, while DeMar DeRozan also contributed with 23 against his former team. Optimism will be on a high for the Bulls entering this contest, they’ve won 9 of their last 11 road games and have covered the spread 8 times in their last 11 visits to Kaseya Center. They’re also 5-2 ATS/SU in their last 7 games overall and looking really good right now.

I have to say I’m far from impressed with what I’m seeing from Miami right now. They just don’t look like a cohesive unit, while the Bulls have all the momentum going into this game. It’s hard to imagine Miami losing both play-in games at home, but when you’re inconsistent like they are it’s very possible. I’ll take Chicago here.

Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls Predictions & Odds

We have two top 10 teams in terms of defensive efficiency playing each other here, so just by that we could be in for a low scoring game. However, the oddsmakers are also aware of this and because of that the projected total has been set at just 209.5 points here which is one of the lowest numbers I’ve seen all season long. Granted, it is to be expected that the game will slow down with each possessions mattering, but that number just sounds way too low even for two teams like Miami and Chicago.

The last 10 meetings haven’t been up to today’s NBA standards in terms of scoring, but we still saw an average of 213 points per game in those contests with the over cashing 6 times. Chicago has cashed on the over 8 times in 11 games, while Miami has done it 5 times in their last 6 games and 7 times in their last 8 at home. Don’t expect a ton of points here, but the over should still land. Back the points.
