Miami Heat

Miami HeatJust when nobody expected the Miami Heat to win, they once again proved everyone wrong and took Game 6 with a 111-103 win in Boston. Jimmy Butler once again showed why he could very well be the MVP of these playoffs so far with another masterful performance of 47 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

He also got a lot of help from 3 other teammates scoring in double-figures, including Kyle Lowry who went for 18 and 10 assists. Question is can the Heat players repeat that performance tonight in front of the home fans?

They are severely banged up and have covered the spread just once in their last 5 home games against the Celtics. P.J. Tucker, Tyler Herro, Max Strus and Gabe Vincent are all questionable here, so it’ll be interesting to see if the Heat can overcome all those injuries one last time.

Boston Celtics

Boston CelticsSpeaking of injuries the Boston Celtics aren’t immune to them either as they have Marcus Smart and Robert Williams questionable for tonight’s game. Smart played 40 minutes in Game 6 on a bad ankle, at times people were questioning why he’s even in the game as he was clearly limping on some possessions.

Derrick White was a good back-up for him as he exploded for 22 points in Game 6, if he can repeat that performance tonight the Celtics would get a massive boost to their chances of winning. Boston does have a good track record of playing games on Sunday as they’ve won 6 of their last 7.

They are also 11-1 ATS in their last 12 on the road, so entering tonight’s game as 2.5 point favorites shouldn’t add any more extra pressure on them. When playing as the favorite they’ve lost just 5 times in their last 20 games.

Like I said after Game 5, I am expecting the Celtics to still win this series even if Game 7 is on the road. They’ve already won multiple games in Miami this season and I just don’t see how the Heat handle them again with so many injured players. Take the Celtics to cover and advance to the NBA finals.

Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics Predictions & Odds

After we got 2 games that went under the total, the projected total fell all the way to just 201.5 points in Game which was surpassed fairly easily with a final score of 214 points. Now the total has fallen off even more to just 195.5 points which is a bit unrealistic for a Game 7. I know these two teams have had several games of under 200 points scored between them, but with the stakes so high I think both teams will be locked in offensively here. The total has gone over in 4 of 6 for Boston and in 5 of their last 7 vs Southeast Division opponents.

If we look at head-to-head meetings the over has landed 11 times in the last 16 games between these teams and in the last 10 we saw an average of 207.8 points per game scored. That would put us over the total quite easily and I have no doubt the two teams will reach their averages from this postseason in tonight’s game. Miami scores 106.3 points while the Celtics are at 107.5 per game. With the total going over in 4 of the 6 games played in this series, including 2 of the 3 in Miami, I think backing the over is the way to go tonight as well.
