Miami Heat – Cleveland Cavaliers Predictions & Odds

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Miami Heat betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s NBA game. It’s the 9th best team in the Eastern Conference taking on the 3rd best team as the Cleveland Cavaliers face off with the Miami Heat. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland CavaliersGetting back Evan Mobley from injury has done wonders for the Cavaliers as they’ve won their last two games against the Orlando Magic and Dallas Mavericks. The win at Dallas was particularly impressive as they scored on 56% of shots from the field and 52% from downtown. All 5 Cavs starters scored in double figures and what was most impressive is Ricky Rubio’s +/- stat for the night at +30 coming off the bench even though he had just 7 points and 6 assists. Cleveland is coping well with the absence of their leading scorer and point guard Collin Sexton, but you have to wonder if this is sustainable long term. They’ve covered the spread 12 times in their last 15 games, however against Miami it’s a different story. They are just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 and on the road in South Beach they’ve won just one of their last 12 games.

Miami Heat

Miami HeatMiami comes into this one after exchanging wins and losses for their last 5 games. Monday’s loss at home to Denver was a disappointing one, however they were without Jimmy Butler in that game. It’s unknown if Jimmy will play tonight, he has been bothered by a tailbone injury for a while now, the medical staff has listed him as questionable. One other player who is questionable is Bam Adebayo who has a thumb injury. The good news is though, the Heat will probably get back Tyler Herro who has been upgraded to probable after recovering from an illness. Miami likes playing teams from their own conference, they are 6-2 SU against the East this season. However, they’ve covered the spread just once in their last 5 games overall. One reason to be optimistic for Heat fans is their record in the last 10 games vs Cleveland. They’ve beaten the Cavs 9 times during that stretch.

In those 10 meetings the Heat are outscoring the Cavs by 14.1 points. They also have the 4th highest Net Rating at 5.3 points and are in a good position heading into tonight’s game. Cleveland has been solid in their last two, but tonight they face one of the top defensive teams in the league. Give me Miami to cover.

Miami Heat – Cleveland Cavaliers Predictions

Heat -7.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

There’s been a noticeable increase in speed of play for Miami when Jimmy Butler isn’t there. We saw that in the Denver game which finished at 231 points the other night. That was the 3rd straight game in which the Heat allowed 100 or more points, they are clearly missing their defensive anchor. They are getting back Tyler Herro though who is averaging more than 20 points per game this season, coming off the bench, so that will be a considerable boost. Cleveland’s offense has been surprisingly good in their last 4 games as they’ve scored 112, 115, 105 and 114. This could be the best stretch of offensive basketball they’ve been on all season long. The Over has landed in 8 of the last 10 meetings, I think with the way both teams have been playing lately that trend will continue tonight as well. Back the over in this one.
