Memphis Grizzlies vs New Orleans Pelicans betting tips and predictions for Friday’s NBA game on NBA TV. The Grizzlies are looking to end a 2-game slide as they host the Pelicans in what will be the 2nd meeting of the season between the teams. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
With just 1 win in 5 games the Grizzlies have fallen to 7th place in the Western Conference which would see them in the play-in tournament if the season ended today. The ambitions of this team are much greater than that, so I’m expecting their level of urgency to go up a notch in tonight’s game.
They just lost to Sacramento by 4-points at home, it was only their 2nd loss at FedEx Forum in 8 games this season. The injury to Desmond Bane has been a huge blow, he’ll miss his 7th game of the season tonight, the Grizz are just 1-5 SU in the 6 he hasn’t played in. However, the good news is they are playing a Pelicans team who they’ve beaten 11 times in the last 15 meetings.
New Orleans Pelicans
New Orleans will also be down one important player as CJ McCollum has been ruled out due to him being in quarantine. He also missed the game against San Antonio the other day, but it didn’t have much of an impact as the Pels won by 19. However, tonight’s game is a different animal, New Orleans has just 2 wins in the last 6 meetings.
All eyes will be on Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram as they try to lead the scoring load once again. Williamson has scored 32, 26 and 29 points in 3 of his last 4 games, so he’s coming into this one in really good scoring form. His team doesn’t really like playing in the underdog role this season, in 6 such games they’ve gone 3-3.
I fancy the Grizzlies here, especially after watching them lose a close one to Sacramento at home. They had an extra day of rest and didn’t have to travel in between games like the Pelicans. Go with the home team.
Memphis Grizzlies vs New Orleans Pelicans Predictions & Odds
At 232.3 points per game scored in the last 10 meetings, these two have been involved in some high scoring contests lately. The total has gone over in 2 of the 3 most recent games, with Memphis scoring 125 per game and outscoring the Pels by almost 13 points during that stretch. Pelicans road games have been very profitable when backing the over with 7 of 9 cashing on that bet.
Memphis has cleared the 229 point total in 2 of their last 3 , while the Pels have done so twice in their last 4. This being the first post-Thanksgiving day game for both sides I think the defenses will struggle a bit here, so expect a lot of points scored. Back the points.
