The ascension of JJJ will be key to the success of this team, as they are lacking a 3rd scoring option when Morant and Bane don’t have it going. Facing a team like Miami is never easy, but Memphis has been dominant against Eastern Conference teams winning 13 of the last 18 games. They are also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.
Miami Heat
Getting back Jimmy Butler was just the thing Miami needed as they overcame the Boston Celtics 120-116 in OT last time out. It was their 4th win in 5 games, Butler contributed with 25 points, 15 rebounds and some key baskets down the stretch. Bam Adebayo also had 28 points, while Tyler Herro chipped in 26, including 6 threes made.
This team will only get better once all of their players are back and healthy, they have been one of the most injury hit teams in the league so far, so it’s only up from here. Their road form has been far from convincing with just 3 wins in 11 games, which is why the oddsmakers have them as 2-point underdogs against Memphis tonight.

Points have been at a premium when these two teams meet, their last 10 games are averaging just 209.7 points per game. Both of them rank in the bottom 15 when it comes to pace of play. Miami has the 8th best defensive efficiency, and that is despite playing 9 games without their best defender Jimmy Butler.
With him finally back in the line-up, he will make life difficult for Ja Morant here. Memphis already has their 2nd best scorer out with injury, if Morant doesn’t have it going offensively it could be difficult to get over the 100 point mark here.
