Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s NBA Playoffs game on TNT. Memphis is in a must win situation as they host the Lakers with a 3-1 deficit. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Memphis finally got a huge game out of Desmond Bane as he dropped 36 points on Monday, but it still wasn’t enough as they lost by 6 in overtime. Pressure is on them now just to stay alive in the series, in order to advance they need to win all 3 remaining games.
They cannot think that way though, if they take it one game at a time anything is possible, but you have to consider the Lakers huge favorites at this point. Ja Morant shot just 8-for-24 in Game 4, his right hand has bothered him this entire series. Playing at home should give the Grizzlies a lift, they were 35-6 SU there during the regular season which was the best mark in the NBA.
Los Angeles Lakers
At the tender age of 38, LeBron James is still doing amazing things, things that he’s never done before in his career. James had a 20 point and 20 rebound game in the victory on Monday, willing his team to their 3rd victory in this series. The Lakers go into Game 5 without any pressure on them, they now have 3 opportunities to close things out here.
Only 13 out of 272 teams in NBA history have been able to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the postseason, so you have to like the Lakers’ chances here. LA is 4-1 SU/ATS in the last 5 meetings, they’ve also beaten 11 of their last 13 Western Conference opponents. The only thing that could prevent them from winning this series is a major injury, let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
The Grizzlies are 4-point favorites here, that’s to be expected from the best home team in the NBA this season. I think they’ll come out with a lot of pride playing in front of their home fans and they won’t allow the Lakers to eliminate them so easily. I’ll take Memphis to cover in Game 5.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers Predictions & Odds
The scoring has gone up in each game since Game 2, and I expect that to continue tonight as the Grizzlies try to push their pace here. This style of play should also work for the Lakers, they’ve gone over the total in 10 of their lats 13 games overall and in 6 of their last 7 on the road. Speaking of their road games, for the season they are 26-17 on the O/U, so it’s pretty clear their defense just isn’t on the same level when playing on the road compared to crypto.com Arena.
Ja Morant’s presence lifts the Grizzlies offensively, but also diminishes their defensive production. The one game in which he didn’t play they held the Lakers to just 93 points, with him in the line-up the lowest amount the Lakers have scored was 111 points. I’m expecting the Grizzlies to come out with everything they have here, so it should be another high scoring game. Back the points.
