Not having Ja Morant didn’t matter for the Memphis Grizzlies once again as they took care of business at home last night and beat the Brooklyn Nets 132-120. Desmond Bane, Deanthony Melton and Dillon Brooks all scored over 20 points as the Grizzlies improved to 15-2 without Morant and are now 25-10 SU in home games this season.
It’s a quick turnaround for them as they face the Indiana Pacers less than 24 hours after last night’s game, but they won’t be worried too much as they’ve beaten the Pacers by 33 points earlier in the season on their home court.
Memphis is on a 5-game win streak, they’ve also covered the spread in 7 of their last 8 games vs Central Division teams. Morant’s status has been upgraded to questionable here, as he continues to recover from a knee injury. He won’t be in a rush to come back though, his team is doing just fine without him.
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are not so fine at the moment, they’ve won just 6 of 20 games lately and on the road they have a 3-8 SU record over their last 11 outings. They just lost to the Sacramento Kings at home by 1 point, which was a big disappointment after winning 2 in a row against Houston and Portland.
With not much left to play for this season, these Pacers are now focused on playing their younger players a lot more and developing them for the future so don’t be surprised if you see some names out there for them that you’re not too familiar with.
They’ve had a long list of injuries for quite some time now, so it’s all about finishing this season with a bit of momentum and preparing for the next one.
Memphis did play last night, so fatigue might be a bit of an issue, but I still believe they are by far the better team here and Indiana shouldn’t be a threat to them. Back the home team to get a dominant win here.
