Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis has an opportunity to put even more space between themselves and the 3rd seeded Warriors tonight with a win, they are in a good spot ahead of this one having won 4 games in a row and are looking for their 8th straight win at home.
They also lead the regular season series 2-1 after winning the most recent match-up by 8 points which were also played in Memphis. Ja Morant delivered a 29-point performance in that game, the Grizzlies will have to be without him for yet another game, but that has hardly phased them as they’ve now gone 17-2 SU this season in games when Morant doesn’t play.
The back court duo of Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane has been terrific lately, they’ll have to step it up once again here as the Grizzlies could also be without Jaren Jackson Jr. who has a thigh issue and is listed as questionable.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State is also missing it’s own superstar Stephen Curry, but unlike Memphis they are really struggling without him. Just last night they lost to a mediocre Washington Wizards team on the road 123-115 despite having 3 starters score 23 or more points.
The defence was just non existent as the Wizards were able to shoot 52.4% from the field and a whopping 57.1% from three-point land. It appears that getting back Draymond Green didn’t have the desired effect on the defence coach Steve Kerr hoped for, this was the 2nd game in a row in which the Warriors allowed 120 or more points. They are now just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games and have only 1 win in their last 6 overall. Against the Grizzlies they are 3-6 SU/ATS in the last 9 meetings and also have just 2 wins in 8 vs West coast opponents.
There’s a 4 game gap between these 2 teams, a win tonight would almost certainly guarantee the Grizzlies the 2nd seed and I think they’ll be up for the challenge at home. Only the Suns have a longer win streak in the West than they do right now, back the home team to cover.

The Warriors are unable to play any defence consistently at the moment, their last 2 opponents were Washington and Atlanta and both of them went over 120 points. I think we can agree that the Grizzlies are a far better team on offence than both of those sides, so it’ll be interesting to see how Golden State copes with the onslaught tonight.
