Memphis Grizzlies
It’s a real shame we won’t be seeing Ja Morant in this game as he has been ruled out with a knee injury. He and Kyrie Irving going at it would have been a dream scenario for us neutrals, but even without him the Grizzlies are a tough match-up for almost every team in the NBA. Memphis is a staggering 14-2 SU without their superstar point guard, that’s one of the biggest gripes people have with Morant when it comes to the MVP award.
The Grizzlies have also gone 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games vs Eastern Conference teams and are one of the most reliable teams in that category this season. Aside from Morant, they are pretty much all good to go tonight, so I’m curious to see if they can handle players like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
Brooklyn Nets
In the remaining 10 Nets regular season games, Irving is eligible to play in just 3 of them and tonight is one of those games. He has played in only 19 games this season and is coming off a 60-point performance last Wednesday at Orlando. Just 2 games before that he had 50 at Charlotte, so we could be in for another special performance tonight if Kyrie gets it going early.
This is a very important game for the Nets who are trying to move up the standings in the East, but time is running out as they are 3 games behind the 6th seeded Cavaliers. They are on the right path though, having won 6 of their last 7 games and covered the spread in 7 of 8 games on the road. They do struggle a bit vs Western Conference teams winning just 3 of their last 12, let’s see if they can improve on that record tonight.
It’s rare that we get to see Kyrie and KD together on the floor at the same time, but when that happens it is magical to watch and they are almost unbeatable. Even though the Grizzlies have been one of the most consistent teams in the league this season, I fancy Brooklyn on the road here. Back the Nets.

The last time Kyrie played the Nets put up 150 on the Orlando Magic. Granted, the Grizzlies are a different stratosphere when it comes to defence, but I still think Brooklyn can do some damage here.
They’ve gone over the total in 14 of their last 20 games and on the road for the season they are an impressive 22-15 on the O/U. When it comes to head-to-head games the over has cashed in 8 of the last 12 and in games played in Memphis in 4 of the last 5, so that’s another thing working in our favour.
Memphis has also gone over in 4 of their last 6 games overall, so not having Morant hasn’t had a negative effect on their offensive output so far. They are averaging 120.7 points per game over their last 3, I wouldn’t be shocked if they got to that number tonight against a Brooklyn side that doesn’t really care too much about defence, as long as they can outscore opponents. I think we are going over the total in this one, so let’s back the points.
