What a start it was for the Lakers in Game 3 as they ran out to a 35-9 lead after the first 12 minutes of play. Memphis never recovered after that, LA’s biggest lead grew to 29 points. Anthony Davis finally showed up in the postseason with 31 points and 17 rebounds, while LeBron James also added 25 of his points and 9 rebounds.
Even with 7 threes made in Game 3 the Lakers were still able to win, that’s another encouraging factor for head coach Darvin Ham here. This series is far from over though, the Lakers have to win tonight to confirm their home court advantage which they stole in Game 1. In their last 8 home games they have 7 wins overall, plus against the Grizz they are also 7-1 SU in the last 8 games at crypto.com Arena, so they’ll be feeling good about themselves prior to tip-off here.
Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis will be disappointed in the way they started Game 3, but it’s a good lesson to learn for this young team. The good news is they got Ja Morant back in the line-up, he erupted for 45 points and 13 assists, missing on a triple-double by just 1 rebound. Dillon Brooks was ejected just seconds into the 2nd half, but he has not been handed any further suspensions by the NBA so the Grizzlies will have him ready for this game.
With Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams already out, the last thing this team needs is one of it’s core rotation guys getting in trouble. This might very well be the game of the season for Memphis, not a lot of teams have come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA postseason. They’ve gone just 2-4 SU/ATS in their last 6 games vs the Lakers.
It’s hard to imagine the 2nd seed in the West starting slowly again in Game 4, I really believe the Grizzlies have a chance here. They managed to come back in Game 3 and lost by only 10 points after going down big early, Ja is back and playing at a high level. I’ll take my chances with the road team here.

Memphis will be smart to slow down the pace here, just like they did in the Game 2 victory. This team flourishes the most when they stick to their grit and grind style of play.
