Miami Heat Prediction

Miami HeatLosing 2 of 3 games is not something we’ve seen from Miami so far this season, but I guess there’s a first time for everything. Monday’s 113-96 loss at Denver was a tough one as the Heat shot only 39% from the field which is uncharacteristic for them. They also lost Markieff Morris for tonight’s game as he recovers from the altercation with Nikola Jokic. The list of injuries doesn’t stop there as Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and P.J. Tucker are all banged up and listed as day-to-day ahead of tonight’s game. Miami will need all three of them as they haven’t done all that well against the Lakers winning just 5 times in the last 15 meetings.

Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles LakersIt will be yet another game without LeBron James for the Lakers tonight. Without him they’ve struggled a ton, but they did manage to pull it out against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday beating them 126-123 in OT. Russell Westbrook got his triple-double and Anthony Davis had 32 points, while Carmelo Anthony was a spark off the bench with an efficient 29 points as well. Chemistry and injuries have been the main problem for this LA team, but with it being so early in the season they can still grow as a team and overcome all those obstacles. LA is 5-1 in their last 6 home games, however they have covered the spread just once in their last 5 games overall.

I’m a bit surprised the Lakers are underdogs in this game, considering their head-to-head home record against the Heat. Both teams are banged up, so it’ll be interesting to see who plays tonight. I’d give a slight edge to the Lakers as they are playing in front of their own fans. Back LA to get the important win.

Los Angeles Lakers – Miami Heat Prediction

Lakers Money Line is available at +160 on bet365!

Scoring should be no issue for either team tonight, mainly because of the way the Lakers play, but also these two teams combine for 221.6 points per game between them which is 7 points more than the total offered here. Russell Westbrook has made sure his team plays at the fastest pace in the NBA once again. In their last four games the Lakers have allowed 100+ points and in their latest game the Hornets scored 123 on their home floor. Miami ranks 5th in offensive efficiency, so they should have a productive night against a leaky defense like the Lakers one. The total has gone over in 10 of their last 14 road games and in 4 of their last 5 games overall. This game will also feature two of the hottest bench players in the NBA right now – Carmelo Anthony and Tyler Herro. When you have so much scoring options on both sides there’s really just one option to back here. Let’s take the over.
