The Los Angeles Kings have seen a couple of ups and downs this season as they had a six-game losing streak followed by seven consecutive wins and then losing five straight again. After Todd McLellan’s team put an end to the five-game losing streak with a win against Ottawa, they lost 5-4 after shootout against the Anaheim Ducks in their last game. Los Angeles was 4-1 down in the third period but managed to come back. Jonathan Quick stopped 32 shots and Dustin Brown scored the tying goal with 4:26 left in regulation for the Kings.
Alex Iafallo scored two goals for Los Angeles, and Adrian Kempe started the third-period comeback with his eighth of the season. Tonight’s game against Calgary is the last of the seven-game homestand for the Kings before they visit Edmonton and Vancouver.

The Calgary Flames have an amazing season so far as they are second in the Pacific Division and in the Western Conference with a 13-4-5 record only one point short of the leading Edmonton Oilers. Their four-game winning streak with two shutdown victories was snapped on Monday with a 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets but the Flames came back to winning track with a 2-1 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in their last game.
Mikael Backlund scored the deciding goal in the seventh round of a suspenseful shootout. Jacob Markstrom sealed the victory by stopping Brock McGinn on Pittsburgh’s final attempt.
Milan Lucic scored in regulation for Calgary, which is 6-1-2 in its last nine games. Markstrom finished with 21 saves to improve to 9-4-4.

The Flames are beginning a four-game road trip against the Kings. They are visiting the Ducks, Golden Knights and Sharks after. Only Brett Ritchie is not available for tonight’s game in LA.
