Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers haven’t been exactly motivated to win games over the past 10 days or so and it has shown as they’ve now dropped 5 in a row. There is really no incentive for them to play hard at this point as they are basically stuck in the 8th seed, Minnesota is 6.5 games ahead of them while the Pelicans are 4 games behind them.
In their latest loss to Philadelphia they scored just 97 points, which is a bit concerning, but help is on the way apparently. Paul George has been upgraded to questionable after a long layoff due to an elbow injury, according to the latest reports he will be ready for the postseason. Kawhi Leonard is also making a lot of progress with his recovery, but unlike George he is not yet close to coming back.
Utah Jazz
Utah also has a ton of injury problems at the moment. Most notably to their 2nd leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic and Rudy Gobert. Bogdanovic hasn’t played a game since March 13th against Sacramento due to a calf injury.
That’s a real blow to their ambitions as he has been on fire before the injury averaging 22 points per game in the month of March, but he should be back soon. Donovan Mitchell is also struggling a bit with an ankle issue, but he should be able to play here.
Utah slipped in the standings to 5th now and will most likely face Dallas in the opening round of the playoffs, without having home court advantage. That’s not the news Jazz fans wanted to hear, their team is just 1-9 ATS in the last 10 road games and against the Clippers they head into tonight’s game with a 1-4 ATS record in the last 5 played in LA.
This game means a lot more to the Jazz than to the Clippers, so just based on that they will want to win more. I’m actually surprised they are underdogs in this one, give me the Jazz to cover with confidence here.

That should change tonight though with Mitchell and Gobert coming back. In their last 10 meetings with the Clippers they’ve averaged 114 points per game while shooting almost 47% from the floor. LA isn’t far behind with 112.7 points per game during that stretch and over the last 3 meetings, the total has gone 2-1 in favor of the Over with the 2 teams averaging 230 points per game.
The Jazz currently rank first in offensive efficiency averaging 113.8 points per 100 possessions, while the Clippers are only 26th, but that should improve significantly when they get Paul George back. With the Clippers not playing for much at the moment, I expect them to relax a bit more than usual on defence, which should be enough for both teams to score over the total here. Back the points.
