Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s NBA game on ESPN. After taking care of the Lakers last night, the Phoenix Suns are hoping to beat the other LA team for the 3rd time this season as they clash with the Clippers at Crypto.com Arena. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers have woken up from hibernation with 2 wins in a row and 3 in their last 4 games as they beat the New Orleans Pelicans 119-100 on Sunday behind a balanced team effort. Marcus Morris Sr. led the scoring with 22 points, while 7 other Clipper players scored in double figures.
Paul George, who just recently returned from injury, scored 15 points on the night and recorded 7 assists along the way. LA remains in 8th place in the West, they will be facing the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first game of the play-in tournament, the winner gets to face Memphis in the 1st round of the playoffs.
With a 3-6 SU/ATS record over their last 9 games, I am not sure if I like their chances in tonight’s match-up. Phoenix has won 7 of the last 10 meetings, so they’ll be up for the challenge here.
With the number 1 seed locked up and home court advantage secured throughout the playoffs, the Suns aren’t getting their foot off the gas pedal. Last night against the Lakers they went all out and beat LA by 11 points to officially eliminate them from the play-in tournament. Devin Booker had 32 points in just 30 minutes played, while Deandre Ayton added 22 and 13 boards to complete the Suns season sweep over the Lakers.
Against the Clippers they lead 2-1 after losing the season opener and then coming back with 2 wins, both of which were at home. Visiting the Clippers hasn’t been a pleasant experience for some reason for the Suns as they’ve won just 3 of 18 games on the road there. However, their overall road form this season has been phenomenal as they are 16-4 SU in their last 20 games away from home. Aside from Kaminsky and Saric, their entire team is healthy here and we can only hope they don’t rest their guys in this one.
With both teams unable to move up or down in the standings, this game won’t carry much weight so naturally the Suns are only 3 point favourites here. I still like them to win here, simply because of their winning mentality. They go all out regardless of the magnitude of the game, so let’s go with the road team here.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Predictions & Odds
We are yet to have a game between these 2 teams in which both of them go over the 100-point mark, so I’m really puzzled by tonight’s projected total being set at 230 points here. The Suns have gone under in 4 of their last 5 games, they are also 19-20 on the O/U for the season in road games. LA has also had more games go under the total than over with their record sitting at 38-40-1 for the season.
An average of just 206.4 points per game have been scored in the last 10 meetings and the under has cashed 7 times during that stretch, including the 3 most recent games which have averaged just 200 points. Both teams take pride in playing good defence as they rank 3rd and 10th in defensive efficiency. Phoenix allows 107.2 points per game this season (9th in the NBA), while the Clippers are just 2 spots below them allowing 108.8 per game. So even if both teams allow their season averages, we are still well under the total here, so I’d recommend backing that bet in this game.
