Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns betting tips and predictions for Thursday’s NBA game on NBA TV. The Phoenix Suns are looking to end a 5-game losing streak as they visit crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Clippers. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Los Angeles Clippers
These two teams are trending in different directions. The Clippers are on a 3-game win streak following last night’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The defense was on point once again as they held the Wolves to just 88 points, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George once again played which is a really encouraging sign moving forward.
LA ranks 6th in the West, which would guarantee a playoff spot if the season ended today. They actually lost to the Suns already once earlier this season 112-95, so revenge will be on their mind as they prepare for tonight’s game. They have a couple of injury worries ahead of this one with John Wall and Norman Powell potentially missing out.
Phoenix Suns
It’s all gone downhill for the Suns over the past 10 days or so as they’ve now dropped 5 games in a row. This is one of the longest losing streaks since this group has been put together and a big reason for that has been injuries, but also the drop off in production by Chris Paul. Now in his 17th season, he no longer has the offensive abilities as he used to, although his assists numbers are still high. He is shooting just 36% from the field and 29% from three, making himself a offensive liability.
The Suns are also missing Devin Booker who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Deandre Ayton is also questionable with an ankle issue, so this team first needs to get healthy and then we can think about them ending the losing streak.
With so much stuff going on, I am surprised the oddsmakers have them as just 1.5 point underdogs here. With Kawhi and PG13 playing well, the Clippers should be able to take care of business here. Back the home team with confidence.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Predictions & Odds
Teams tend to struggle a lot scoring wise when playing these Clippers. That’s the main calling card this team has this season, as they like to rely on their defense to win games. Just last night they held Minnesota to just 88 points, one of the lowest marks of the season. They rank 5th in defensive efficiency, and having individual defenders like Kawhi Leonard finally available has been really helpful as of late.
If Booker and Ayton aren’t able to go here, the Suns will have around 50 points per game worth of players out with injuries. Pace wise the Clippers rank only 17th in the NBA, while Phoenix is down in 26th at the moment. With the last 10 meetings averaging 204.9 points per game and 8 of those games finishing under, I have no other choice but to follow the trends here. Let’s back the under once again.
