Los Angeles Clippers vs Oklahoma City Thunder betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA game at crypto.com Arena. With their regular season series locked at 1-1, the Clippers and Thunder will square off once again tonight in Los Angeles. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Los Angeles Clippers
This is actually a repeat of a home-and-home between the two teams, the same scenario happened way back at the start of the season when they played 2 games in a row in Oklahoma City. Each team won a game, I have a feeling that could be the scenario here as well, but the question is who wins when?
The Clippers are in a good mood having won 4 of 5 games, Russell Westbrook has been benched late more often than not and it’s resulted in wins. Injuries are always part of the equation with the Clippers, but thankfully this time around both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will play. This season they’re 19-13 SU when that duo plays, for that reason alone they’re 6.5 favorites heading into tonight’s game.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Just like the Clippers, Oklahoma City is also on a run of 4 wins in 5 games. They don’t have 2 superstars like LA does, but the one they have has been playing really well lately. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just dropped 40 on the Phoenix Suns and the Thunder rolled on with a 124-120 win. That leaves them in 9th place in the West standings, half a game over the 11th placed Lakers.
Tonight’s game is on the road where they’ve been one of the most consistent teams this season covering the spread 11 times in 16 games. They’re also 4-2 SU against the Clippers in the last 6 games and have covered the spread 6 times in the last 7 meetings. The one problem is they haven’t won at crypto.com Arena in their last 8 visits, but as we’ve seen on a number of occasions lately, streaks like this are meant to be broken.
I just cannot justify backing the Clippers to win by 7 or more points here. OKC has done a great job at keeping games close lately, so I feel like they’ll be able to go down the wire in this one. Back the road team and the extra points.
Los Angeles Clippers vs Oklahoma City Thunder Predictions & Odds
With the season winding down more and more teams are reverting back to playing defense, as they’ll need to play more of it come playoff time. We have a pretty huge projected total here of 236.5 points, that number hasn’t been reached in either of the 2 meetings between these two teams this season. In fact, if we look at just the last 10 meetings only 213.2 points per game have been averaged during that stretch, with the under cashing 6 times.
LA has gone under 4 times in their last 6, while for the season they are 9-25-1 on the O/U in home games. The Thunder are 2nd in pace this season, but the Clippers are at home here which means they’ll be the ones dictating the tempo. Only 5 teams in the NBA play slower basketball than the Clippers do, so it could be a slug fest out there tonight. I’ll be backing the under with confidence.
