A 26-point loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday has brought down to Earth some Chicago Bulls fans who were ready to pencil this team into the NBA finals this year. The Bulls were able to hang until the 3rd quarter, but then the Warriors went on a 35-17 run and they simply couldn’t counter with anything. Zach LaVine played well with 23 points, DeMar DeRozan had a rough shooting night going 4-for-13 from the field and finished with 18 points. Those were the only two Bulls players to score in double-digits. Nikola Vucevic didn’t play and he will miss tonight’s game as well after he entered the health and safety protocols. Chicago has an abysmal record vs the Clippers in recent years, they’ve beaten them only once in the last 10 games.

Those Clippers are on their longest win streak of the season right now. The 129-102 win over Minnesota was their 7th in a row which equals the Suns and Warriors who have the longest win streaks in the league right now. Paul George had just 23 points, but he didn’t have to score more as the game was pretty much over by half time with the Clippers leading by 27 points. Reggie Jackson also had 21 points on the night, he has really improved this year and is averaging 18 points per game and 4.3 assists. LA prides itself on playing good defense, right now they are 4th in the NBA in opponent field goal percentage allowing just 42.4% shooting. That has resulted in them covering the spread in 5 of their last 6 games.
This is going to be a tough one for the Bulls, they’ve lost their last 5 games at Staples Center against the Clippers. They didn’t look good at all against the Warriors the other night and defensively the Clippers are very similar to Golden State. They’ve beaten the Bulls in 9 of the last 10 meetings and they didn’t waste much energy last night vs Minnesota, so they should be fresh for tonight’s game. Give me the Clippers to cover at home.
