Tyrese Haliburton went off in that game with 32 points, while as a team the Pacers shot 52% from the field in the win. Repeating that performance tonight would give them a really solid chance of sweeping the season series, however with just 1 win in their last 5 games optimism isn’t exactly at an all time here.
After Chicago’s win yesterday, the Pacers find themselves 3.5 games back from the 10th spot with just 7 games to go, so it’s not realistic to expect them to make up for that in such a short amount of time. To top it off they’ll also potentially be without Myles Turner and Tyrese Haliburton as both are listed as questionable on the injury report.
Dallas Mavericks
Dallas is also in a desperate need of a win here, they need to get something going following back-to-back losses to the Charlotte Hornets of all teams. To make matters even worse, Luka Doncic got his 16th technical foul yesterday which is an automatic one-game suspension, unless it’s overturned by the league in time for tip-off.
With a 2-4 SU/ATS record in the last 6 meetings, the Mavs could definitely use Doncic who dropped 40 points in the loss to Charlotte. It’s also been revealed that Kyrie Irving is playing through a foot injury, that’s not something you want to hear with the playoff being just around the corner. The Mavs first have to get there though, they’re a game back from the 10th seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, so a win here is a must.
Luka or no Luka, I’m rolling with the Mavs here. More often than not teams who are in desperation mode will play their best, and I expect just that from Irving and his teammates. Indiana is pretty much out of the playoff race, so don’t be surprised if they keep out Turner and Haliburton out of this game. Take Dallas on the road.
